Hello all. Just wondering if any of you have any idea on these? My daughter has asked for one for her birthday (she’ll be 11 on the 31st). I know enough about band gear, PAs etc, but nothing about this stuff!!

    Any ideas greatly appreciated

On the other hand, I wouldn't touch Sonos with a barge pole. They've had to backtrack a while ago, but they were planning to make all their old kit obsolete by stopping support for old products. Even worse, it wouldn't just be that you'd not get any updates, and old kit would have stopped working. As I say, they backtracked somewhat on it, but for how long? That's the mentality of the company.

I got this for audiobooks but I've tried it with music and it sounded fine. Clear trebles and decent bass for the size, seems to handle higher volumes without distortion.

Cheaper option but I've got no complaints, had it for years and no problems. There's a newer version out now which goes a bit louder I believe. Actually the one issue is it makes a loudish noise when you connect to it, bit annoying but not a big deal.

Fair comment. I have a 1st Generation Sonos Connect which had some issues but that was a while back and it now works fine.

She’s 11! Not really wanting to go past the £100 mark. And am a little loathed to spend that but I know you “get what you pay for”

Have to say, I have 3 Echo Dots and 1 Echo - all of them have fantastic sound quality and can easily be used as a Bluetooth speaker

That's a good point. Do you want a battery or mains powered speaker, Marcus?

Just checked that and it's the old model. They've upgraded it.
Decent battery life and waterproof though. Handy for kids.

I got the psyc for about £32 cos I'm tight :D and also it has a jack plug connection for none Bluetooth.

I thought they sound like a duck in a biscuit tin :D

Ok not that bad, there's an echo show in the kitchen that sounds ok.
I bought an echo studio with the intention of getting another for stereo coupling.
It's a good sound but I hate Alexa, hate fookin Amazon and cancelled the subscription .
    It's just a £190 ornament atm <laugh>

Just to add, that psyc speaker weighs a fookin ton, its like a solid block of lead and handy as a paper weight or if there's any unwelcome intruders in yer house :D

JBL Flip. Wife's been using one daily for 18 months and sounds great. Good battery life. All the JBLs are good - got one of the bigger ones as well which is excellent.
