cheers sir...tonight i wish i could have a drink, really feckin buzzing here and wanting to get to the games again, unfortunately i doubt i can manage it but it does not mean i feel any less than a SC holder.
Now there's an idea! Nah, I'm just sitting reflecting on the massive change in our club and the excitement you can feel coming from everyone. Optimists are sometimes condemned as 'happy clappers' but the critics have slinked away and gone very quiet. We can now sit back, as I'm doing with a bottle of vintage port I was gifted, and look forward to the next game. Because of this window that game, against those famous crowd pullers Accrington Stanley, will top 35,000 ... ... KLD has done this all very quietly, now it's time for us to make some noise.
Or, like me, clueless and also just wanting it all done so we could get on with things. I've had enough of turgid tactics and us under-performing, now I just want to enjoy us playing exciting football and being at the top of the league for a change. KLD ownership feels like climbing out of a clapped out moggie minor and into a modern hyper car. In theory both are fundamentally the same, but there are all sorts of things you have to learn before you can even start the hyper car up and I just want to race off down the track.
Wish our club would stop doing the right things....I'm having too many dizzy spells....just frightened I'm going to wake up and find Short and Bain still in charge....ffs this could all be frightening
I think you're wrong there mate, this is direct from the website ... "At Safestyle we take manufacturing quality products seriously, so much so all our uPVC windows and doors come with an extensive, easily transferable 10 year guarantee. We guarantee to repair and replace any faults in your windows and doors for 10 years and as the nation’s largest fitter of windows and doors with over 25 years experience we’ll be around in another 10 years to fulfil that promise."
Now we can’t be having that. I started this one and it’s been so good, we can’t risk anybody else starting any other transfer window thread. It will be bad luck.
Optimism levels rising. That appears to have been a really strong window, the first for like five years? Young, promising players that have come from decent clubs with some form of youth pedigree, here to prove themselves in the mens game and 100% looking to progress up the leagues. Haway the lads.
Well thats it till January and i must say ill be quite happy to see the end of this thread for a while . Here's the squad that weve got to take us through a whole load of fixtures until we can strengthen again. After fearing the worst a month ago, i must admit that im very happy with how we look. Patience has never been my strong point .... Theres obviously a few players on here that can play other various positions but this kind of gives us an idea with what we have got to play with. I hope we've got a behind closed doors friendly lined up to give the new lads and the none international lads a chance to get some proper minutes in on the pitch.
Just woke up and saw this lovely extra nugget of news as well. What a day its been, in fact what what month, I remember talking to my brother before the Wigan game and he was really down about the lack of signings - purely because he was worried about getting off to a bad start and having to play catch up. I just told him to trust KLD as he hadn't bought the club to leave us high and dry and that I was 100% confident we would be happy by the end of the window and if we did have ground to make up then I was sure we could do this quickly. As it happens thanks to LJ the less than complete squad has done wonders and I think we are way ahead of where LJ and KS thought we would be by the time our rebuilding was complete. Just think we could have signed numerous goalkeepers before now but by waiting until the last minute we have secured possibly the best goalkeeper to move to any club in England and I'm going to say it, he is going to make the difference of a few league positions to us and gets us into the top 2.
Woke up early, September's here and it'll soon be the end of April with a lot to look forward to in between. Into my 63 rd season and cant remember a time when positivity was the word of the day, well done SAFC the futures bright...the futures red and white HTL.
Team has had a brilliant start to the league, best transfer period in ages and I can’t feckin wait until we get cracking again. Oh and even this bugger can’t bring us down
An excellent transfer window, the club have been patient and it’s paid off. We’ve even managed to get ourselves to the top of the league by being patient and not having certain positions filled by the first game. Contrast us to the likes of Ipswich’s scattergun approach.
Probably just the simplest way to get the paperwork done. Besides you wouldn't want to hold people here against their will. ... ... Newcastle have done that before, with foreign players, and they've virtually gone on strike. Xisco anyone
