Exactly. Good players like this with an option to buy don’t just fall in a teams lap. Why not boast I say! I regret answering him now as he doesn’t even look like much of a fan now I’ve looked at his profile

Great window. Everything seems to be falling into place nicely.

Surely we can all agree now that, as a club, we're incredibly lucky to have Donald and Methven 'pulling the strings' so adeptly in the background. :emoticon-0182-poolp:emoticon-0139-bow:

This is the main difference imo. The club have A PLAN!! Planning In the hope if we do get up to the Championship we already have a team capable of competing there with a few additions. And not having to do a complete overhaul again. Oven-ready as they say.

Unreal August. Started off slow but couldn't have hoped to have been in this position.

Outstanding work from top to bottom.

You can tell all things are good, when The doom and gloom mongers (especially after the Burton game) have crawled under their rocks again. We are still in the 3rd tier of english football, but I haven't felt this positive about SAFC for many many years.

Well done to everyone involved at SAFC. Really held their nerve and stuck to their plan despite outside pressures.

Some ridiculous business done in this league this preseason though. There’s about 6 teams that on paper would walk to automatic promotion any other year. Going to be seriously tough to go up but the foundations are in place for the future regardless.

Nothing short of a miracle what kld (and all staff) has managed to achieve in a short space of time.

From pathetic to professional in 6 months, which is ****ing fast for a turn around.

Considering that we had no recruitment team a short while ago, I thought we'd get a few decent players in, mostly UK market and obvious choices, ready for a big build once the recruitment got bedded in . Well they have actually hit the ground well and truly running and exceeded my expectations. Players from all over, professional deals (loans with option to buy if promoted), no press leaks until deals were pretty much complete.....
    Bloody incredible.

Unbelievable window, I was always confident though. No chance were we going to cock up on KLDs 1st real transfer window, he has too many people at the top of their game running our club for him. Onwards and upwards

  15. Yeah,me too. I think the league has a procedure in place to accept late forms in the event of a mistake, even if there was an error by us,which I very much doubt, given the total professionalism with which our transfer business has been conducted in this window,as long as the intent was there before the deadline.

Brilliant news that we got shot of Girgg. Went to bed before the end of the window and missed that one. Happy days. A bit of time to get these lads settled and familiar with the surroundings before our next game as well.

Did you get any further info relating to the last minute incoming player you mentioned last night? Not that it makes any difference now, and I think some fantastic business has been done, but just curious as to what area of the pitch they were looking at.
Regarding the players we have brought in, I have to say I don't think I had heard of any of them, but the people who matter obviously do when you look at the type of player they have identified.
We now have the makings of a very decent league 1 team with players who just might be good enough to make the step up when it happens reducing the need for wholesale changes year on year.

Brilliant window. Which has been massively helped by the fact that two of our “weaker” players that people wanted out in O’Brien and Flanagan, have both had excellent starts. Which shouldn’t be surprising seeing the quality of the team around them has risen.

I think we are fine at full back but could maybe do with one more, especially at left back.

Hume is nearly fit, has limited options, is an academy product and is far from poor at this level. He would make a great deputy to Cirkin,

Personally I expect Hume to be confirmed in the next week (based on nothing but hunch)

This is interesting. Wonder if those 4 players that taxi guy posted were compromised. None of them signed
