Either way he needs to lose his agent.

If he’s accepted the offer given him at first I would be happier if he was still out the door.

Must have been a sharp shock to the system that no single club would pay the minimum, contractual compensation fee.

Unpopular but I hope he has signed.

The negativity in my opinion is that he merely has the audacity not to sign for Sunderland and trying his luck with the championship. How dare he?
It might have been a poor offer for all we know.

I think he would offer a good option at left back. We've signed alot of young defenders, gone too young on average in my opinion and we will need more experience when they have a perfectly natural bad spell at some point as part of their first mans football season.

    Don't understand the hate personally.

I wonder what is fitness level is now.

When will he play a first team game again for whoever he signs for?

If he does sign on, he would be struggling to get named on the bench never mind the first eleven

Hmm not sure if the rumour about him signing has any legs... I think started as a punt by somebody on RTG...

Agreed. I like him and he'd only progress further with the current crop of players we have now.

I don't think there's any hate, what you'll find is no-one knows what's happened it's just what ppl are hearing on here. If he reckons he'll get a better offer at a better club he's sadly mistaken. Earn it, don't expect it. We've been screwed over by too many average players.

If he DOES sign then it's been a massive climb down by him and a big win for the new regime. Will be a decent backup to Cirkin

I was told by a close friend who works with humes best friend that he was waiting for an offer and Sunderland was his last choice. He said that Hume wasn’t happy with how Sunderland dealt with him (he didn’t go into much detail, don’t think he was told much himself) it sounded like he felt he was worth more than Sunderland thought he was. If he signs then I’ll only support him but I hope this is a real kick up the arse for him and he kicks on. There is a player there but it seems he got far to ahead of himself for a player with so many weaknesses.

Problem for me if we signed him would he be motivated or would it be another player not interested just picking up a wage e.g Grigg, Rodwell etc and also would he breed discontent in the camp

Hopefully he will want to fight for a first team place, there is a player there he just needs to push on. Give the lad a chance man.

There's posters on here that slag the club for letting go young talent, Hughill, Mumbai. have I spelt them correctly? Then go on to slag off the young players that have made it to the fringes of the first team. This lad has been injured and out of the picture for a long time and is probably just trying to get the best deal he can for when he's ready to start playing again. Wouldn't you do the same if it was you?

There is very little loyalty shown by clubs to players beyond what is contractually required so a players agent is hardly likely to recommend his client should take an offer if they think it is below what his client is capable of requesting. If his agent has miscalculated what he thinks his player is worth it doesn't make the lad a bad player. Is he better that young Dennis, I don't know, but I'd rather they to battle it out on the field for our coach to decide than a few negative posters on here to decide whether he should **** off or not. And there has been plenty who have suggested he should just **** off if he didn't want to accept the offer made to him.

This lad has his whole future in front of him, I'd keep my options open if it was me, after all it's a very short career. My working life passed by so quickly and it lasted 42 years, his won't.

  19. I hope he stays and all this nonsense is put behind him. Adding him to the squad brings a final piece of balance to it imo.

Good riddance. He will realise what a huge mistake he’s made as we rise up the leagues and he’s pissing about with the likes of Tranmere.
