Maybe Macca will have a better day in the last Indycar race today.... O'Ward still on for the title, though a long shot.

I think Mercedes will be a little disappointed after that race, 2nd vs 6th/7th is better than 1st vs 2nd. All adds up for count back as well.

Red Bull played a blinder this weekend. Really couldn't have worked out better for them.

At least Bottas showed why he is getting binned at the end of the season. Another embarrassing drive

    Yes

    Totally embarrassing.

Give him a strategic engine parts change at a circuit he generally goes very well at . When Toto said go for it for the points , I would LOVE to know what he ( VB) was actually thinking .

They are taking the piss out of him know. And I think that's sad .

Just imagine how much you could earn if you could 100% guarantee what the weather was going to do .

I think it was the right call for Bottas and the team?

After Bottas' poor quali, in the dry I think 4th or 5th was about the best he could hope for. He was unlikely to pass the McLaren's or Hamilton, Perez and Sainz would have been tricky too. He's not exactly shown fantastic ability to scythe through traffic, and Hamilton couldn't overtake without a big tyre differential.

Bottas needed an engine in his pool, and mid-race the team still believed he could get 5th. The opportunity to disrupt Verstappen was an added bonus, but rendered completely irrelevant by Bottas' complete failure to even try and defend against Verstappen.

Bottas got about the same result he would have had started 7th, but now has an extra engine available, where was the error?

    That was a good race.
The weather played a part, no doubt. Lewis kept a cool head, played the long game and won. But Max is another story. No aggressive driving yet he came from last to second. Caught and took his team mate Perez, whose performances are inconsistent. Perez is capable of better but I guess is falling foul of the red bull machine. I am keen to see how Norris and Russell deal with Verstappen over the coming years. Norris, drove brilliantly but lacked the courage to make the call but he has learned a valuable lesson.
I don't know if Lewis can pull it off this season, I hope he does but Verstappen is in a groove and may have the better machinery.
Surely Mercedes can do something to motivate Bottas. Offer to double his income for the right response.

I do think the next two years are likely to be the last for Lewis

To make all the Lando fans feel a smidgen better - the Ferrari/Charles strategy was even worse.

And all this Star Wars sequels and prequels were even worse than both... doesn't make me feel much better. Waaaaaaah!

And to top it off, Ed Jones pretty much killed the Indycar season finale.... Curse you racing gods!!!!

Be interested to see what Ferrari took from their PU data with Le Clercs new MGUK.

He had a rear wing the size of a house today yet he was keeping pace with Verstappens low drag set up- some promising signs for the Scuderia I suspect despite it not working out in today’s result.

With a new ICU design next year, coupled with what appear to be sizeable electronic gains, they could well fire themselves back up towards the front next season onwards.

I believe he got a reprimand and nothing more from what I read earlier <ok>

I think sensible given conditions and conditions context - I.e he was on slicks in a monsoon and would have been more dangerous to continue another lap
