I'd say last years were slightly easier. In both season's we've played 2 of the probable top 4 (1 home, 1 away). Of the other 4, last season 2 of those were relegated and the other 2 bottom half (Villa had started the season really well though). Contrast with this season and Everton and West Ham have a good chance at top 10 and you'd say Burnley and Newcastle will do better than Fulham and Sheff. I also believe fans back make those away games slightly tougher, shame it's not improved us at home yet (Kalvin says we're being too loud )
Yes because 2 of the team we played early doors last season were relegated and 2 of the teams we were expected to compete with but we lost one and won one. This time we were up against 2 top 4 teams and 2 who are probably top 6 contenders. Although last season we were 5 points better off but if we had played this seasons fixture list we would not have taken those extra points. So for me all not doom and gloom yet
The sad thing for me, last year we’d have beat Newcastle and Burnley and we’d have held on for the win against West Ham. Last season I’m sure we’d have been 7 points better off
I would say slightly more difficult than last season but we really should be 4 points better off than we are. Should've beaten Burnley and Newcastle.
Cannot argue with that and in defence of Bielsa I would say a fully fit side would have won those games
I'ts not so much the drawing and losing this season, but the performances that worry me. Hopefully the energy and endeavour will return, but no sign of either so far.
Performances haven't been as good on the whole but it's still early. The one positive is that we have created alot of chances in every game. We just haven't put them away as yet. Although we need to get a win sooner rather than later I am comforted by the fact that we are still creating plenty of chances. I'd be really concerned if we were getting twatted every week yet having no shots at goal ourselves. I'm telling you, someone will get a hiding off us soon. Things will click up front and we'll stick 4 past someone. We had good chances against Everton. A couple of really good chances at Burnley before they stepped on the gas. Newcastle should have been buried out of sight first half. Hit the post against West Ham at 1-0 and Klich missed an absolute sitter 2nd half. A couple of those chances go in and we could be 3-6 points better off and comfortable in the too half with most of our defenders missing. Fine margins. We do however need to win a game and soon before the pressure really starts to build.
What became known as ‘the Leeds press’ is no more. We no longer press teams like we used to. The boundless energy seems to have mysteriously disappeared - very strange. It was something that set us apart from other teams. We were by far the fittest side in the country, which bridged the ‘talent gap’ with more established, more expensively assembled outfits. Leeds need to get their mojo back - fast.
