Struggling to think of many better. The one v spurs was similar but this one he went past more players. Were two others similar v napoli and Watford as we.

the long range strike v chelsea that went dead straight into top corner was a quality strike, diff type of goal.

Well, there are some tasty ones in there. It's for sure better than the snowy goal but not by that much.

If there was a "hysteria" like conaldo or messi would get then its be ironed on goal of the year by fifa (thus far at least)

In fact if the conman scored that it'd be talked about for 10 years. (Like who they ignore the fact Ronaldo's world class years were not at itd when the boast about him)

Jeez gagging for it or what.

Give the lad a break. He could have had to murder his mother in law for missing the second half or something for all we know.

Think we were lucky to come away with a point but on the other hand, should be seeing games out when you take the lead twice. Draw was probably a fair result.

Unfortunately, the midfield let us down yet again. None of them were particularly good and it's even more shocking that they played the full 90. I do have some sympathy for them though:

    - Fabinho looked absolutely knackered by 75 mins but he is now having to cover far too much ground now and it's making him look even worse. He is underperforming by his own standards but he is certainly not being helped by 8's.

    - Jones cannot play that disciplined LCM role. Stop trying to shackle him and let him play on the right side where he has more freedom. With that said, he has a long way to go in terms of off the ball ability.

    - Hendo simply does not have the legs to play this new advanced RCM role. Countless times over the past couple of weeks, he is not tracking runners and he is just jogging back to try and win the ball. As you know, I've never been a big fan of his but Klopp really isn't doing him any favours with shoe horning him into this team. And we just gave him a new contract yaaaaay.

I'm hoping Klopp can easily rectify this midfield issue by letting Jones be the advanced one and let Hendo sit back and just recycle possession. We do not need his stupid aimless first time crosses into the box.

And it's 2021 and we're still using Milner. Why have we not bought a back up / rotation for Trent yet? Again, sympathy to James because he was completely exposed because of Hendo.

Positives for me - Mo Salah is the best player in the world right now. And Allison is a machine (although his kicking is atrocious!).

I don't agree with this - the midfield was the problem and is causing these big gaps. You only have to look at Hendo's positioning at RCM to see how far high up he is. This is definitely an instruction Klopp has given because we saw it with Elliot earlier this season however Elliot had the legs to get around.

Not only that, we're now using Jones as well who isn't good enough (yet) defensively. As a result, our midfield is not offering the same level of protection. It's not even doing the basic defensive functions such as tracking runners.

Nothing wrong with the defensive line IMO - the issue is that big gap on the right hand side between Fabinho and Hendo.

Hendo managing to cram in about a dozen footballer's clichés in 15 seconds at the end there. :)

What I don’t understand is why has hendo a role changed at all. All last season he played on the right of the midfield and would tuck in and cover TAA who then pushed on. I don’t remember the left side being anymore offensive / defensive either. Last season abs the 2 before the midfield 3 have been told to do the donkey work.

I guess Klopps trying to find a way for them to be more creative but the success has been the wide forward tucking in full backs giving width and midfield covering. I know need to keep changing things so not to become stale but I don’t understand why Hendo is being pushed so far forward these days. Teams already targeted our right back area with TAA/Gomez not as solid as vvd Robbo and now with big hole there, it’s even more of an obvious area to exploit.

This is the thing. Klopp definitely went into this season thinking he's want more from his midfield in terms of control and output. Elliot did very well in this role and it suited him perfectly. And Thiago was brilliant towards the end of last season (albeit not as advanced).

But for Hendo, it simply does not suit him and Klopp needs to accept that. Hendo really shouldn't be playing more than 1 game a week because we need to keep him fresh but more importantly, injury free. He doesn't have the legs anymore which is obviously the biggest part of his game. If Hendo continues to play RCM, then just let him hold back a bit and focus on defending, and let Jones attack down the left side instead.

With that said, Hendo being more advanced might not be a problem if we had someone like Naby / Thiago sitting at LCM and playing that role properly. I really like Curtis and I think he is a classy player but he is definitely not ready to play the defensive side which is absolutely crucial to this midfield.

Mo's goal was unreal. Already the best goal of the season. And arguably the best attacker in the world at the moment.

With him, I think we are currently the best team in the premiership. We can score against any team and although I can accept that City is the best passing team, they don't have a cutting edge. They do miss that No9 -Aguero like striker to slot in their chances.

On current form I would put us as favourites for the title.

Maybe so but klopp did tell us it was being passive and sitting off that was the issue creating too much space.

I felt foden had the fun of the right side and all 4 players of henderson, fabinho, matip and milner looked nervy or leggy.

I felt second half jones never got to grips with KDB who say in behind the lad constantly in acres waiting for the ball.

Its not like that type of formation isn't what we do. The right side is advanced and pressing up more and dominating that side while the left is more holding.

Really was the defence sitting off cos they say the issue in midfield or was the midfield too stretched by the defence sitting back?
