That what I meant. Stat may show that City has been the better team but the key stat is the scoring. And without a striker they will need a higher chances to goal ratio to keep up.

They will but chelsea should still be favourites not us.

Both city and chelsea have already got 4 of their top 6 game spot of the way while we have only 2 and both of them got to get out of anfield with a point.

Our run in is hard enough as well so we need to be building a lead not throwing points away

Our first team is right up there and I'm convinced we would have beaten City had we had Trent and Thiago starting.

We just need some luck and get players back ASAP from injuries (and not sustain new injuries).

But don't forget, Allison, Fabinho and Bobby won't be allowed to play vs Watford due to quarantine rules lol.

Yeh yeh but we are always 2 injuries away from falling to ****, as seen last season.

And current form dont pay the bills in may so it means nothing.

Our 1st team yeh, up there indeed, our squad depth is a joke compared to citys, chavs and utds though and it will show over the season imho, cant see us winning this leagie unless we literally have no more major injuries this season and good luck with that **** <laugh>

    Positivity is one thing

    Blind faith is another.

I dont think i said anything negative tbh just a bit of realism.

Our cbs got injured last year and it ****ed any serious challenge, nearly ****ed top four for us, bar an allison header.

God fobid mo and mane go the same way at the same time like virgil and joe did last year but its possible.

Elliot is already out for the season, he was supposed to be ginis replacement.

Thats one mid down and out.
    Naby doesnt exist.
Ox os so off the boil its not even funny.
Thiago always picking up knocks, hendo too.

But yeh like i said if all stay fit all season we have a decent chance. But no way are we favourites for anything at the moment in October ffs<laugh>

It wasn't meant as an attack on you - I hope it didn't come across that way. But there is a range of attitudes on this board - from ridiculous optimism to equally daft pessimism. I would class people looking at what can go wrong and expecting the worst as being on the negative side of the dividing line, but we're all different.
I would agree that we're in no way favourites - though that also depends what is meant by the word. I'm thinking of favourite as a betting term - as in who has the most money put on them. Clearly we are not favourites by that criterion and it's not a matter of opinion.
Who is most likely to win is a different matter - that is down to opinion, and we all know what is said about opinions...

No it didnt at all, i was just explaining myself more and went on cos im baked<laugh>

I guess what i was sayin was i think we'll be up there at the business end of the season as long as we dont suffer the same as last in terms of injuries, im already on tenderhooks about them (injuries) cos they took out my golden boy Harvey already and ive been waiting for that kids breakthrough season like a kid at xmas since we bought him<wah>

    Shoulda been naby<whistle>no one would've noticed anyway:bandit:

We cannot be favourites if for no other reason the ACON comes at a vital part of the season and it impacts us far more than our rivals .

As there’s no match day thread for Watford yet, need to be wary that gonna be without Alison Fabinho and firmino due to Brazil playing Friday night a day before our game v Watford <doh>

That is disgraceful and frankly nothing but abusive of the system.

We.changed international breaks to 2 weeks to give these countries a period to get player in and training before a friday/ tuesday type game plan so they could have better games and get back to their clubs half rested.

Covid turns up and suddenly all that is out the window and there are 3 games in the week, zero training time and the players are flogged.

This friendly game between qualifiers needs to be stamped out.

I can understand brazil have an issue but **** them imo.

Don’t forget you still have to quarantine for 10 days on arriving back to the UK as well, however seems like some weird hybrid quarantine where can still actually play football according to klopp - from 1st October.

It's 10 days' quarantine, allowed to play the games, allowed to go to work, not allowed to live at home but don't need to live in a hotel chosen by any authorities and you can choose it yourself. Food has to be delivered in front of your room door. You're not allowed any visitors," he said.
"That would mean for the players after the international break that they go for 10-12 days with their national teams and then they go another 10 days into quarantine away from their families. That's 22 days and two weeks later there is the next international break
