And here's me thinking the PL put a stop to it because of morality and human decency... turns out it was about the mighty dollar all along. I don't care what anyone says eg, not being bothered etc, yes we concentrate on Sunderland, yes we have KLD and things are on the up, but Newcastle getting taken over by extremely wealthy people we literally money to burn and the potential to be the "next Man City" is indeed something to be bothered about. It's human nature. Like it or not, the press will piss themselves over this because for some reason, the national press like them. If this takeover gose through, we mite just have to take it on the chin. That being said ,HAWAY THE F#&KIN LADS!!
I love the way Sunderland is being run these days, I may be naïve but that's all that matters to me. Really looking forward to the Gillingham game.
FFP means they won’t be doing a Citeh any time soon anyway. Everton had to prove to the PL this summer that they weren’t going to break any rules to avoid a points deduction. UEFA are also looking at ways to clamp down on the spending of state owned clubs, expect news on that front shortly. Still not good news though, with Ashley they were just drifting aimlessly.
So as you say it had **** all to do with human rights, shows the PL are just as bad. I'd love to say it's not going to bother me because it will but I don't think it matters how successful they are or how **** they are I will despise them all the same
An owner can be 10x richer than another, doesn’t make the club 10x richer. The rules have ensured that a billionaire can’t just use a club as an egomaniacal plaything like Abramovic did. It has to be a sustainable model at the club. These ffp rules are supposed to ensure that you can’t technically spend more than you make
It's isn't about being naive mate and I agree totally. But Newcastle are a different kind of fan base with this self entitlement. If reports are true, their new owners are the kind of people that see Man Cities wealth as a "good effort". Time will tell.
That's why I said, they'll not be winning any premier leagues or European competitions. There's still a lot of ways around having money invested into the club upping your budgets. Everton accepted 30 million from 'somebody' to be next in line for their ground naming rights or something along them lines.
Insane shirt sponsor deals from companies owned by the owner is a big one. Naming rights for a ****ing training ground ffs, that was an everton move.
