That’s why the Saudis etc. have been buying up swathes of London real estate and companies left right and centre. They know their main source of income is only heading in a downward spiral.

Good luck to Newcastle I say, they would have wished us all the luck in the world if we were in a similar position.
I am concentrating on us at the moment and our need to get out of this ****e league.

I agree with what you say CM, apart from the bit in bold. I think the KLD/LJ factor has had a huge bearing on the type of signings we have made this summer. I don't think Cirkin, Doyle, Huggins, Hoffman or Dajaku would have given us a thought last season.

The revolution has started very promisingly and I fully expect that to continue. I have faith that KLD and his team can take us up two flights over the next five years.

When we re-enter the Premier League, I would expect Mrs Dreyfus and possibly Juan's father-in-law to show an interest in investing, and that should make us very competitive.

Regarding the Newcastle takeover, I wonder if they will be vilified in the press, or is it not okay to appoint a manager with right wing sympathies but okay to murder, stone people to death and treat women as third class citizens. Time will tell.

Understand fully what your saying, and those players you listed are definitely a step up on what we had, the point I was trying to make is established top name players are just above us at present although I expect that to change come May next year.
I'm deliriously happy with our present situation and long may it continue. Happy days as far as I'm concerned but can't see the Mags showing the patience our fans have.

It's a packed market up there these days, they're just another set of billionaires on the pile, and there will be zero tolerance for failure. If football was as simple as hoying money at it then everything in the last decade would have been won by Man City.

The worst thing about this whole takeover is that those Paper Plane ****ers will think all their protests have paid off. They'll believe that the "pressure" they put on the PL made them change their mind. They will be even more insufferable than usual

Not just saying this because it’s the Mags but I’ve thought it for a while. It’s time UEFA came up with some proper spending rules because there’s such a financial arms race at the moment that it’s leading to clubs like Barcelona being in serious trouble as they try to keep up. Now I’ve absolutely no sympathy for Barcelona, in fact I find it quite funny that one of the European Super League founding members is in such a hole, but football is becoming a farce with how much money 2-3 clubs have compared to everyone else. Billionaires are one thing but we’re talking about a select few who are literally state backed… this cannot continue for much longer.

Last I checked they were looking at some sort of NBA style cap which is a step in the right direction I suppose and should reign in the state backed clubs somewhat, but there needs to be a more radical redistribution of wealth because the gap between the haves and have nots is only going to get wider and it will lead to more big clubs entering financial ruin.

Love how Amnesty say: "As with Formula One, elite boxing, golf or tennis, an association with top-tier football is a very attractive means of rebranding a country or person with a tarnished reputation".

How does an association with the filth help their image...?

    Yep...my stance exactly.

...if it's all lgit then let's all crack on ...Aye they are our friendly enemy....and yeah I mean that.

My deceased elders from Durham were split down the middle who they followed. both either Red and White, or Black and White.....and the banter was belly laughs all weekend long...

I f*ckin' love this rivalry history....and I miss looking for the Derby dates.

We are better than slagging the buy-out man.

    Whatever will be.

I want the Derbys back guys...........x

I said last night that the media ****athon would start. talkSPORT, Sky, BT, the lot of them will be doing a U Turn to kiss their arses. then they can have ex players on and fans talking about the "dark times" playing in the championship for a season with a 50 million pound pot, a squad full of Premier league players and Rafa as their manager.

Like I said last night, HAWAY THR F@#KIN LADS!!!

Is that because our regime is professional and keeps things close to its chest rather than play it out in the media?

How big is this takeover by the way? Is it Man City level or is it more of an investment?
