Was thinking the other day, I was at school when I first started posting on the BBC predecessor to this site and I'm married now. Literally been on here about half my life. Mental.

Imagine what good could have been achieved in the world if we all spent our collective time on here doing something useful or productive instead of argueing about a back 4 or Norwich and stuff

I was bored the other day and starting to read the early threads in these pages , you and me used to go to town on Nigel Pearson with a mutual dislike , but you used too get slated even if I started it, happy times <laugh>

Let's face it, most of us would probably just have more blisters from the additional time spent on 'more productive' websites instead...

... Or is that just me?

You missed it but I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease about 6 months ago having had symptoms over the previous 12 months- so about 18 months into the journey. Will be 80 next August and have been told I won't see 90 but hey my dad died in his early 30's and my mum died aged 52.

It was a conversation with you one night back in 2010 on the Hull CityMad forum that gave me confidence to post on a football forum as the wife of a Hull City fan. I joined Not606 shortly after and several others from HCM including yourself came there. I cannot thank you enough for that conversation.

Sorry to hear that Mrs. BMB, but can take a lot from your positive outlook.

Pleased to see I could help out in a small way, actually quite humbling!

To this day I will never understand how/why people lined up to defend/speak highly of Nigel Pearson, the man was a weapons grade tool and I’m glad we were eventually vindicated!

As much as I dislike McCann, can’t imagine the day I’d ever wanna see the back of a City manager as much as I did Big Nige.

Fired up all over again now.

Pearson clearly has something as a manager. But you're right. Weapons grade tool about sums it up.

McCann is not the managerial talent thet Nigel was though. But McCann has time on his side. He again clearly has something but lacks experience. And he's just as **** as Nige with the media.

Kept Leicester in the Premier League then they went onto win it the following season.
Signed a good squad of players for Hull City, then went on a record breaking club record of undefeated away games at Championship level. But because he didn't suffer media fools gladly the HDM christened him 'Boring, boring Nigel'
I'd have him back in a shot.

Yes it's odd why some on here focus on his media persona.

SAF, Clough etc all bullied or humiliated journalists in their time.

They didn't suffer fools or questions they felt were out of order.

I thought Mike Smith had a great friendly media persona, I remember him calling a caller 'pal' in a Mudbank phone- in back in the early 80s. He seemed a very good communicator.

And look where he took us....<laugh>

Yes. We played them in the March at their place and if we'd have won they'd have probably have been relegated. As it was it finished up 0-0. I walked out of the ground amongst the Leicester fans and they were all to a man saying Pearson should be sacked. I think there were four or five games left, I butted in and said Pearson would save you, he's a good manager and to be fair Leicester had a decent squad then, it was his team.
I think he won all the remaining games and we went down instead. He was sacked or resigned ? in the summer over the incident involving his son and a couple of other players in a hotel during a pre season tour. His squad won the Premier League that season.
Nigel Pearson was one of the better managers at championship level ( Div 2) that Hull City have ever had.
