Use to laugh at people when people would say, "we'll be relagated by christmas" with this manager, i'm not laughing anymore.
No way. It took him two years to get that job. He had a secure job with City and it was him who choose to walk. Yesterdays man. Be better off as commercial or operations manager at a football club then managing the team.
I forgot about that Wilks shot. That would've been a right mess for the ref if that had gone in. You're right that it's the rub of the green, the bounce of the ball and so on at times. But the thing is under McCann the fine margins go against us almost every game. We play reasonable football most of the time but we nearly always throw a goal away and we consistently waste chances ourselves. He's not been able to fix it. He hasn't been able to stop us conceding from a lack of concentration at short corners in over two years and he hasn't managed to teach Eaves to stop making pointless fouls or Wilks to pass to a better placed teammate instead of having potshots. These are the kinds of things that define his tenure for me. At this point I just don't see how results can improve with him here.
That's irrelevant. Dembele was offside because the offside rule requires you to have two defending players between you and the goal. Normally one is the keeper but with the keeper up it has to be two defenders. Only one defender was goal side of him.
And there lies one of the major issues, him and his management team see the issues week In week out, yet are clueless to put it right. This squad of players need coaching and drilling into a proper unit, we have no world beaters in there but many teams are in a similar position this season, the difference for me is that they are coached much better.
Absolutely this, it’s what I’ve been saying for weeks. The quality of our squad, and the placement of the better players in that squad on the pitch, is far more of an influence on our current predicament than anything else. Some of that is on McCann, some isn’t. And last night it was proven. Because in the 20 minutes with Huddlestone on the pitch we looked a totally different side, confident, forward looking, dangerous. Same thing happened later, to a lesser extent, when Eaves replaced the trundling Magennis. Play your best players Grant! Just to add - the very worst kind of manager is an unlucky manager, because of the fine margins discussed by Urika and others. McCann is an unlucky manager right now.
Even the HDM are calling for him to go, I don’t ever remember that happening on any other manager https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/spo...nt-mccanns-tenure-bordering-untenable-6091004
Surprised the linesman got it right after being completely flummoxed by their defender giving it to us in an offside position in the first half.
I think the quality of the squad is less important than the quality of the manager, at least in this division. A bang average squad can still finish mid-table in the Championship with a decent coach who sets up the team well. Look at Blackpool, sitting pretty in 12th with twice as many points as us. I would argue our squad has more talent and technical ability than theirs, but we have a **** coach who isn’t getting the best out our players. There’s not a single player in Blackpool’s squad who I think would improve City, but I’d definitely rather have Critchley over McCann.
What can you expect when the club have been such twats to Baz and Co. They didn’t even give Baz a chance and yet his articles remain well written and fair. Perhaps they just don’t like the truth.
I was very surprised to see him start the game , I love him as a player but he's at the end of his career and seemingly getting injured regularly
It was the right decision. Replays kinda proved it. Why would he come back when he walked away in the first place?
Wasnt a secure job. He walked over the terms of the contract denying him a payoff if relegated - with a budget/wage reduction plan likely to get him relegated.
They're balanced and fair. If they were proof-read prior to publication they may be well written, but mostly aren't.
