There's a great match thread on the Sunderland forum. Their team is flying, and the fans are expecting an easy win. But we're taking 1,000 away fans, who will make a helluva noise, and with Jacko and Jase running the show I expect a bit more resistance than we've been showing recently, even if we lose, as is likely. I expect Purrington, Washington, Dobson and DJ to return to action.
It will depend on the immediate impact on the players of having Adkins removed from influence and presence. But we have to hope that Charlton have a puncher's chance of an upset with JJ in charge. Very much wishful thinking. But we're fans, so it is allowed

Also remember that the whole ground is now cashless, so if you want a drink or a pie or anything else you will need a card or a phone to pay with.
It wouldn't surprise me if none of our wingers start tomorrow if Lee is fit. To change the mentality to one where we defend as a team and attack as a team, none of CBT, DJ, Kirk or even Leko will fit into that, although tbf Leko's other attributes are important in attack.
Can't wait to see what team Jacko puts out. I'll be listening to the totally unbiased commentary on Charlton Live after lashing ahrt £4 for a 48-hour pass to watch the U-23's beat Millwall and listen to Jacko n Jase take on Sunderland. A win double? Unlikely, but it's a funny old game.
We need to keep it simple today and get our best players on the pitch from the off. MacGillivray, Matthews, Lavelle, Pearce, Purrington, Gilbey, Lee, Watson, Leko, Washington, Stockley, 4-2-3-1 Subs - Arter, Blackett-Taylor, Famewo, Henderson, Gunter, Clare, Davison
TEAM NEWS | Jackson makes five changes for Sunderland clash 23rd October 2021 14:00pm please log in to view this image Caretaker Manager Johnnie Jackson has made five changes for this afternoon’s clash against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light (3pm). Adam Matthews and Ben Purrington return in the full-back positions and George Dobson comes into the starting XI to face his former club, with Elliot Lee and Conor Washington also enjoying starts. Craig MacGillivray continues in goal, with Matthews and Purrington joining Sam Lavelle and Akin Famewo at the back. Dobson and Alex Gilbey are likely to man the Addicks’ central midfield, with skipper Jayden Stockley and Washington set to be supported by Jonathan Leko and Lee in attack. The Charlton bench, meanwhile, consists of Stephen Henderson, Jason Pearce, Ben Watson, Sean Clare, Diallang Jaiyesimi, Corey Blackett-Taylor and Josh Davison. Charlton: MacGillivray; Matthews, Lavelle, Famewo, Purrington; Leko, Dobson, Gilbey, Lee; Stockley (c), Washington Subs: Henderson, Pearce, Watson, Clare, Jaiyesimi, Blackett-Taylor, Davison Not a bad prediction then - Famewo instead of Pearce and Dobson instead of Watson, apart from that it looks like JJ knows what he's doing
