I suffered it. Due to the teacher. There are some on here who went to Bridlington Grammar School. If they were there when Speck Watson was teaching they will know what I mean.
German wasn't too bad, we watched a good movie at the end of the year about people burrowing under the Berlin Wall - forget the name. Suffered through Chinese for two years though.
The war was over then Chazz. It finished in 1945. ( Awaiting SW3 saying he didn't know that and what a lot you learn on Not606.)
great, if Turkish football fans in the UK see Hull City as their second team we'll have 25,000 in the MKM for every home game & the place will be rocking!!!!!
What a bizarre way to do this via twitter. So McCant could just throw the towel in now and not even try.
Was thinking today though, wouldn't it be great if he came out against Brum and played 3-5-2 as a two finger salute to the Allams?
The more I read and hear from our potential new owner the more I like the cut of his jib. I wish the same could be said looking at Arveladze’s managerial career. His initial foundations are good with assistant experience under Van Gaal, Avocaat & Koeman at AZ Alkmaar. He then managed 2 lower league Turkish clubs and had a couple of good seasons with Kasimpasa SK (finishing 6th twice - who can was a decent effort in the first season as they had just been promoted). It was on the back of this that he got his chance at Trabzonspor (where he had a good spell as a player 61 Goals in 94 appearances). He resigned after only 15 games after a poor run of results - they went on to finish 12th which was their worst placing in 14 seasons. He then went to Israel with Maccabi Tel-Aviv and was sacked after a poor run of results - the team recovered after his departure to finish 2nd. Most recently he was at Pakhtakor Tashkent in the Uzbekistan Super League where he won 1 title in his 3 seasons - although they have won 14 of the 28 titles that have been on offer since the league started in 1992. Not exactly a glowing managerial career.
I keep seeing this parroted, but less than impressive compared to what? Pep Guardiola maybe yeah? https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/shota-arveladze/stationen/trainer/7849/plus/1 At his previous two clubs he's had a points per game of 2.32 over 124 games and 1.83 over 30 games. If you want to go back further, we are talking 2015, 6 years ago!
A poor run of results?! https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sho...d/119/datum_zu/2016-06-16/datum_ab/2017-01-04 Won 3, drew 2 and lost 1 of his last 6
But if you manage the team that on average wins the league every other season you expect the win percentage to be skewed. Better to look at the job he’s done overall where he has been.
Fair, but he actually won the title and cup twice with his last club, not once https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sho.../3718/datum_zu/2017-06-23/datum_ab/2020-12-31 He also didn't even have three full seasons. He came in in June 2017 but the season runs from February to December
Wish I had realised at the time how useful it would have been a few years after I left school. Would have approached it differently.
