    But ended up winning 5-3.

Great game, and it was free on ITV

Yeah I saw that at lunch time, really pleased they clawed back to level and then went on to win in extra time. Love a good upset

Todd back in first team training today with the new manager. Also looked like Abu Kamara was involved?

Yes, Kamara was involved. The latest to break through then?

Making up the striker numbers in Pukki's absence? But a <applause> for the young man nevertheless.

It's also a way for Smith to show his desire to develop younger players and bring them through.

Stressed the importance of this in one of the videos (his talk at Birmingham University about management & leadership?)

Chelsea beating Leicester 3-0 could have easily been 7

Interesting (?) that Chelsea, Arsenal and Palace all played in yellow yesterday.
    A tribute to our new-found resurgence?? :emoticon-0112-wonde

Leeds lost, so we're just 3 points from safety (OK, I know it's effectively 4 because of goal difference).

Other games hadn't gone too well for us this weekend, with Villa and Watford both winning, keeping us 5 points from safety, so it's good that we've made up ground on one team at least.

Plus, of course, we're off the bottom (eat your heart out, TalkSport!)

We also made momentous ground against Newcastle! And Burnley and Brentford, all of them I think will be in the mix at the business end of the season

I'm a little bit unsure about Newcastle. It depends how well they do before Janaury, when they will evitable try to buy their way to safety. But that could also go against them, I guess, changing a whole new team, they may not settle in, fast enough.

No Ollie Skipp for Spurs this afternoon against Leeds. He was a regular under Nuno, and played in new manager Conte's first league match (v Everton). May be worth keeping an eye on how things develop from here for Ollie.

No chance. I believe he was absent due to the amount of yellow cards he's accumilated

Still a question about whether he's a Conte-style player though. He fitted in well under Nuno and the two coaches are very different. We'll see.

Interesting to hear essentially the same arguments around Gilmour's performances as we had with Leitner (and perhaps Vrancic as a 6/8 not 10). All capable of being highly effective in a team that's on top, but struggle when they can't control the ball and need to contribute defensively.

I would have liked to see more of Leitner and Vrancic as "deep-lying playmakers" in a 4-3-3.

It'll be interesting to see if Smith feels that McLean and Normann are the right pairing to provide the platform from which Gilmour can produce.

Based purely on Sorensen's absence from the matchday 18, he's presumably not seen as an immediate solution.
