Interesting that Obafemi has been dropped by Swansea for an attitude problem. Both him and Gallagher went for a fair bit of money for the championship and both struggling for game time. https://www.google.com/amp/s/pundit...obafemi-swansea-city-disciplinary-issues/?amp
You can’t do the whole Harlem Globetrotters stuff and win the CL. I think Poch knows that, hence why he’d want the United job.
Turned it on and it was 1-1 after 3:42 of 4m injury time. Blinked and they lost 2-1 with the last kick of the ball
So according to the CEO of Aston villa, "everything good in football is in the Premier League". What a total arrogant ****, and just further shows why I hate the Premier League. You might think it's bitterness because you guys are in it and we're in league 2, but actually my hatred stems from the utterly elitism and arrogance of the media, clubs, fans (though generally not you guys), the people involved. The view that the premier league is the be all and end all, the view that everything else is inferior and worthy of disdain and sneers, the fact that if you're not in the PL, as a club you're worthless and your only value is in the minutes you can give PL kids as training opponents. Not to mention the greed and self interest. **** the PL.
I agree with you Laps, and I think most genuine football fans would. I didn’t realise you’d already been relegated though!
Don't get me wrong, the PL is the pinnacle and I believe that in any sport, or pretty much anything you are passionate about, you should always strive to be your best. That is why it means so much to clubs in all leagues getting promoted. However, with that said, my best memories as a saints fan 100% came in our league 1/ championship days. Quality of football was worse, but thats partially why is was so great - anything could genuinely happen. Bloody loved it.
Could it be that the Villa CEO is arguing against the European Super League (as well as being very arrogant)?
When you're a television camera crew with a mandate to show the crowd pre-match, and there is no crowd, you get a bit creative: I can just imagine the discussion between the director and crew as they tried to settle on what to show, followed by the decision to single out all of the cheese-sandwich-eaters.
This could be the start of something big - a combination of broadcasts from empty stadia due to re-imposition of Covid lockdowns, together with cheese images - the puns will run and run
Well picked up on the League 2 thing, bit of a Freudian slip there perhaps lol. Though a few weeks ago, some Portsmouth fans were talking about relegation. I don't know, been football fans for such a long time and yet seem to forget that every team has a bad period during the season at some point. Better early than late, IMO. I don't know if you've seen the video, it was posted to the Talksport Twitter, but basically he's arguing against an independent regulator of football because we have the PL, FA and EFL, because they've been so great at regulating themselves in the past...!
Blimey, if Wales beat Austria and Scotland beat Ukraine in the play off semi finals it will be Scotland v Wales for a place at the World Cup!
Only one of Italy and Portugal can qualify for the World Cup! Even if they both win their semi's they will face each other in one of the 3 finals!
