Our recruitment in the summer was good. We've had injury problems.....Huggins,Arby,Willis,Hume....now Cirkin..all defenders,so it hasn't been straight forward. But,it's my belief LJ is a bright young coach, but he's over coaching. Some of these players are confused...trying to absorb positional changes, tactical changes with always an analysis of how the opposition are going to play. He needs to set up with something the players are comfortable with and stick to it.
Even if we win tomorrow my opinion won’t change, I still want him out. It’s no good constantly wondering when the next set of awful performances and results will begin.
Is there a point at which you will be happy for him to stay? If he goes on another good 'streak' will that change anything? What about if he gets better players in January and we see the impact they have.
Honestly? I don’t know. The trouble with Johnson is he can have the team playing well and then out of nowhere the same players all of a sudden struggle to string two passes together and you’re on an awful run, watching awful football and getting awful results. The most bizarre thing is that there’s no warning for when it will happen, it’s literally a case of one extreme to the other. It’s happened multiple times at Bristol and it’s happened twice here already.
I feel the problem is Is he even good enough to get us to the championship However if so I don’t think he could lead us all the way to the premiership So what do we do give him a little more time or what
You've got to bear in mind that everything was not rosy in the garden at the end of last season - far from it. Our run in was pathetic. The new signings gave everyone a lift and expectations rose. Those expectations have been severely dented in the last 6 weeks and some people are thinking "here we go again!" It's not fans being fickle, it's fans being exasperated with another series of kicks in the stones.
I would like a manage who could motivate us to reach the championship and then push for the premiership. However we have to crawl before we walk And he hasn’t got us to the walk stage yet
The thing is if it flips again they could win 9 out of 12 again and that would likely see us in the top 2 with a cushion. That kind of winning run is as positive a sign as the recent losing run is negative. The bigger challenge now looks like the injuries...
I cant see him taking us to the prem mate. Just a personal observation but I think we will need to be better tactically if we are in the top half of the championship. I do think he can take us out of this division though. The bigger question mark for me is whether we have the squad for that task, I personally think we are seeing some weaknesses emerge.
Yeah it would be fine if he could get us to the championship However I think that’s when the plan should begin Invest well with players and make sure we have the correct manager to move us on
I've just looked at his form in the league since coming in. Only league as lets be honest, that's the form that counts. From the start to Shrewsbury (not including Wigan as he was here a day): 4 wins out of 11 After Shrewsbury last season: won 9 out of 11 The run in last season: won 1 out of 9 Start of this season: won 7 out of 9 Latest run: won 3 out of 8 Total: 48 games and 24 wins which is bang on 50% win rate. Sorry, but that is not good enough.
He's been in charge for the longest losing streaks in their history at both Bristol and Barnsley. He's been in charge here for a year and the mistakes he's making now are the same ones he made end of last season. I can see us picking up again but at the minute I've little faith in LJ not having another car crash before the end of the season. Can they work behind the scenes and maybe bring in some coaching support or does he have to move on I'm still torn as to what we should do but I'm starting to come down on the "time to go" side I think/hope the club is now structured to cope with personnel change behind the scenes even the head coach Saying all that my gut feeling is that they will stick with him this season
It seems to me that LJ may be a great coach, teaching players how to pass and move. However, as a tactician ... as a team maker .... as a strategist .. no real sign if that.
