Guess we'll find out. It is not part of Acuns plan to sell him this window. The only way we will is if he wants out.

I guess so, I suspect if someone came in at say £15m, it might be too tempting to turn down. They probably know of some players of similar talent in some far-off league who they could bring in at a fraction of the cost.

Hope so. But it would be nice to be able to keep our youth engaged to the point they're happy to stay and progress with the club?

We benefitted from George not being appreciated by Sunderland.

So maybe it's swings and roundabouts in the greater scheme.

Think you're thinking of the question about the first Aus to play for us, I didn't forget Garcia just knew he wasn't the answer. It was an obscure one to be a trick q (van Blerk). I wouldn't forget Garcia!

Just edited it in, but it was van Blerk, just looked it up again as I'd forgotten him again! <laugh>

But yeah Allsopp played before Garcia which is why I was thinking it was him or Bridges (even though as you pointed out and I realised after I said it, Bridges isn't Aussie he just lives here now).

Bridges born and bred in North Shields.

I worked in his local and I lost respect when he asked for a T-bone steak well done.

Then lost all respect when he scored a worldie on his debut and didn't look arsed the rest of the time.

Oh, and he was always a massive cock and didn't tip the waiting staff despite being on a massive wedge at L**d's at the time.

To be fair I would have struggled to remember Van Blerk.

Big signing at the time (it was BP days after all)

    But kinda did **** all.

Yeah I did vaguely remember him only because it came up recently when Elder was in the side with Irvine about how many Aussies we'd had, but I'd never have guessed him.

Ricketts was the killer in that quiz as I described him enough that Will (a familiar face around here..) guessed it and they won by 2. If we'd got Ricketts would have been a draw..

It was one of those where you're wringing your hands hoping you'd get it.

    Got enough clues too.

Was painful mate. But at least have a bit of payback for the ashes haha!

I'm not gonna re-watch it but wasn't it a bonus point for top Aussie scorer or something?
Sure there was a reference to that first PL promotion season he scored twice away at the baggies or something

Don't think so, only questions I could remember where there were bonus points was knowing who we faced and the result of the opening days of various seasons.

I knew the goal scorers for 15/16 and 12/13 and it didn't count for anything. :(

Mate. Get your last 'down under' guest on and you'll smash them 'hull millenialls' next time around.

I like the Hull and back thing massively, but it's like their knowledge begins at 2008.

The Blah Blah lads are probably the best pod (IMHO - no offence) but can't be arsed anymore now one of them is getting paid as a contributor to various mainstream media.

Be remiss to not mention ginger joe(c) also.

Cracking effort from all the 'grassroots' content creators frankly, in what otherwise would have been a media malaise.

Hope you all keep going and grow from strength to strength.

    You could live with it?
You say that as if it's you who would be making the decision on how to spend that £15M

It makes no difference to you personally whatever monetary value the owner gets for the sale.

The players have been protected in their comfy bubble for too long under Grant. It is like having a gaffer at work who doesn't give a toss if you come in late etc, no one wanted him to leave but they all know he wasn't the answer for progression. If the boat is rocked and some want out then they can leave for me, clearly do not have the mindset required to push for bigger and better things.
