Get Shane long back and pair them up
Especially if we can find a player called silver in a three

Bring in Rob Holding, Ben Mee and Ben White while we're at it. Holding Mee Long White Ndong would be good for the headline makers.

I listened regularly when they first started and it was pretty good. They did a few episodes with ex-players as guests. Rodney Rowe, Stuart Green, Folan, Fagan and some others, they were really good. It's very laid-back; sometimes they're just chatting about relatively mundane stuff and they make a point of making a lot of references to old sitcoms, so don't expect it to be 100% focused and sensible. The kind of person who gets upset about hearing Burns and Swan talk about food probably won't like them.

Spot on, KLP has 6 goals 4 assists half way through the season. Been playing in a losing team for over half of it, has been playing with Magennis, Eaves, Wilks. Whereas Bowen played with Campbell, Harry Wilson, Turbo. The midfield is also a lot worse than it was when Bowen broke through. He's TWENTY FFS the fact some of you are expecting Bowen level performances 2/3 seasons earlier suggests everything, he's ahead of where Bowen was at 20 playing in a much worse team.

Can't believe the way some of you downplay him. You'd think a 20 year old Hull born lad who's top scorer would get more praise from his fans rather than outsiders...

Bowen was much better when he was 20 and first broke into the team. With the disclaimer, as you’ve pointed out, and I had already made, that he was playing in a stronger team with better players alongside him. But he definitely looked a better player.

KLP is good but he’s definitely over rated. You put him in a strong team and I doubt he stands out.

He's underrated if anything, he stood out in the best team in league 1 last season. Bowen wasn't much better when he broke into the team at all. KLP has a lot more dimensions to his game at 20, Bowen had cut inside and shoot. Bowen went on and built on that in the summer, KLP has more to his game at this stage of his career than Bowen did.

I’d agree with that, hope he stays until the summer at least hopefully another season after. Saying that, I think he’ll need to improve at a quicker rate than he has been to be anywhere near the player Bowen was by the time he left us.. never mind now. With Bowen it seemed like every passing week he became a more complete player.

Bowen had a natural goalscorers instinct though and that papered over a lot of cracks in his early days.

It's funny though because Morgan Rogers was another who stood out for Lincoln last year but he's leaving Bournemouth as he can't get a sniff.

If we could sign him for £6-8m and flog KLP for £15m for example, I think that's a pretty good deal. Rogers is almost 18 months younger and has been involved with England up to the u20 level

Are you suggesting KLP doesn't have goal scorer instincts:emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl:

He can score with his head, both feet much earlier than Bowen ever did. He has to continue like Bowen did and become more clinical but to suggest he doesn't have goal scoring instincts is crazy.

Saw this stat on performance figures from L1 season…

Both played 43 games in League One last year.

Brennan Johnson: 11 goals, 5 assists.
    KLP: 13 goals, 5 assists.

He's nowhere near as clinical as Bowen was. He missed an awful lot of chances last year, he has this year too and the Blackburn game was the perfect example. That miss from about 4 yards out was staggering.

Brennan Johnson has strolled past him this year though

The fact he was there to tap it in suggests he has goal scoring instincts, did you see Bowen's miss against Leeds the other day, it happens...

His team are 7th they aren't comparable.

If KLP had played in that Forest side with Cooper as gaffer he'd have better numbers, until the change of system KLP was our attacking threat. 20 years old and he had the full weight of the team and supporters for him to drag us through games. And he got a lot more criticism than he deserved, the way some people speak about him you'd think he was a 33 year old journeyman on £20k a week.

I saw a lot of Bowen coming through the U23's and KLP to a lesser degree. From what I have seen, they are pretty similar development wise. KLP, now has to start scoring a bit more regularly, but that will come. I feel working with Shota could well be of great benefit to him. KLP is not overrated in my opinion, he can go on and be as good as Bowen, and with better players around him this will only help.

There's plenty of other great City podcasts recorded weekly if that's your thing! To Hull and Back are a great listen, HCAFC Hub have just started up again which will be great, and then Tigers Down Under aren't too bad from what I've heard..

Agree, he's played 102 games for us at 20 for comparison Bowen had only made 53. KLP could easily surpass Bowen if he has the right attitude to development he did. TWT
