Christian you talk about folk not bringing up Ole, and you ask for a response about how we're doing under Rangnick instead. Then when you're given one you choose to reply to the poster still banging on about Ole. Full of **** fella because you want to bang on about it as much as Cytrax does.

Sadly it's a part of modern football isn't it - every aspect of a new manager's performance is there to be scrutinised and inevitable comparisons drawn against predecessors going back to the year dot to justify them being in the job - or not. Its only natural that Rangnick will be compared to Ole in the same way that Moyes' stats were held up to the light against SAF, the same with LVG and Jose. We can't just shut off all discussion simply because a comparison is drawn but I suspect a 50/50 season comparison between the two will make for interesting reading..

 

You better tell Christian then. The bloke seems a bit confused.

Anyway looking at results today, looks like we'll be fighting it out for 6th with one of them.

 

I've tried to move on but he keeps going back to the same theme over and over again. My criticism is of Rangnick the turd but unfortunately he keeps bringing it back to the previous manager who he blames for everything under the sun.

You've made some good points about our play. But this game is about winning and scoring. No matter how wonderful the system is, if we drop points then it clearly is not. I've said many times ultimately we have to see the wood for the trees. Are we winning matches? Where are we in the table?

 

No. I'm not. You and cytrax seem to be. My focus has always been on Rangnick who frankly is a fraud but others seem more interested in blaming the previous manager. I've only responded to people who blamed him for our current problems. He's been gone more than 4 months and some are still obsessed.

 

If, as is currently being touted in all media outlets, that the dressing room is toxic and that 'the players' are the problem, how do you reach the conclusion that a bloke new to the club and has had three months in charge is the problem?

And the bloke who had three is years previously, isn't?

It's hard to not keep bringing it up when your stance is that.
You can't possibly pin it on Rangnick and then expect no reference to be made to his predecessor, who put together the very squad he is working with. It's inexplicable.

Anyway, I've just seen the whole match vs Southampton. It's incredible we start so well, have a great opening 30-40 mins. We could've easily been 3-0 up by then. Then it gets to half time. In the second half when they and Burnley score, we lose confidence, composure goes, and the performance turns to ****.

Very strange. I listened to Shaw after the match and I tend to agree, it looks like a mentality thing.

I am focussing on the here and now that’s why I am saying Rangnick is a **** manager. Why can’t anyone say he’s **** unless he’s crying about the previous manager? I honestly wasn’t trying to be a dk but I was purposefully calling Christian out on his visceral tripe. I get it that I come across as a dkhead in doing so, but it was very important to call out Christian every step of the way on his logic that I felt was nowhere to be found for years.

I will refrain from the argument going forward as I think the points have already been belaboured.

Fair enough and respect to that post.

There's nowt wrong with disagreeing about the manager - past and present. But not all the time and not at the expense of everything else.

It'd be nice if we at least talk about the games themselves? The football itself. The performances, what the players are doing right (or wrong) and even the manager, instead of the "he was ****, he is ****" diatribe. Just for once to come on here and see a post and think "yeh agree that's what happened" or "Good point I hadn't see it like that". But hey, maybe that's me just being pretentious.
