Maljoom would have won that if he hadn't been stopped nearly dead at the top of the straight. Very unlucky.

Struggling to follow all the sport this afternoon. I reckon this has to be the greatest Tuesday afternoon of sport I can ever remember.
I cashed out my England cricket bet when England slumped to 93/4<doh>
Since then they have produced an outstanding performance.
An unknown Englishman has knocked out the world number 5 in the tennis and Ascot has been as good as I can ever remember! <cheers>
    Bring on the night!

Root saved England in the last test, now its Bairstow's turn. Yorkshire should charge the ECB extra for the privilege.

Very unlucky, came from last place up the rail and just failed. Nice looking racehorse.

Nice win for Coltrane and given a peach of a ride by Callum Hutchinson. When I was young, David Nicholson's dad Frenchie was the master trainer of jockeys. Today, Andrew Balding seems to have taken on the mantle. He seems to have an academy of apprentices at Kingsclere, and has had for years. Probert, Hornby, Buick and Murphy all came from Kingsclere, they were then followed by Jason Watson. Today they have William Carver, William Cox, Harry Davies and Callum Hutchinson. Names to watch this year and for the future.

I think today I have realised just how much the BBC has abandoned horse racing.

not one mention of the meeting on the BBC Sport home page. That really is appalling.
