That’s my point. He saw the number of players we needed with zero notice and the budget Short gave him and thought ‘no chance’. Could have done a better job with what he had certainly but Short was the biggest issue.

Or alternatively we can discuss him endlessly for no reason whatsoever.

Sure the budget was limited but he signed an absolute nobody in Djilobodji for £8m…his transfers were unforgivable.

A random person off the street could have signed better players for less.

Wasn’t it confirmed Djilibodji was on the Allardyce list ? I think he was a McKay player like all of backhand Sam’s.
Not saying he did well with players like but it fella like him and us were shafted by Short. And Allardyce to be fair .

I'm pretty sure we were in for him before he signed for Chelsea.

Ndong was being scouted under BSA.

Dodgy-bodgy was scouted by Allardyce, along with Ndong, but both were rejected by Allardyce. Ndong because he was massively over priced and Dodgy-bodgy supposedly had others scouted ahead of him as better options. Regardless, spunking about £22 million on those two was crazy. The fact we could have got M'vila for £5million instead of £13.6million for Ndong is ridiculous. For someone who'd been in the game as long as he had by then, you'd think he'd have enough contacts of his own to scout players instead of relying on his predecessor's cast offs. And that's not considering how he miss managed the players already there, like ruining Kirchoff.

However it was a complaint for a while by Evertonians that Moyes wasn't that good with transfers, some of them calling him "dithering Dave". He bought a few duds there, but generally got away with it by signing the likes of Cahill, Baines and Jagielka.

He might have been dealt a bad hand while he was here, but he played it even more badly.

Maybe they are better coaches and deliver AN's instructions better. We'll have all worked under poor supervisor's before. Hopefully it's the right call.

It might be the right call, it might be the wrong call but you've got to give people a chance before writing them off. People are falling over themselves to criticise, its ridiculous.

The hate towards Dodds is ridiculous. He was huddled with Neil throughout our promotion run in. Some of our fans are so thick it’s embarrassing. They rant on about everything

yeah I suppose it can be spun a number of ways. A small concern it’s possible we could be looking to cut costs but also it could be a positive move.

What’s wrong with cutting costs like? Do people just want us spunking money all over the shop again?

There is an issue amongst football fans in general who look at the vast amounts of money paid for bog standard players since The Premier league era began and they equate the amount of money spent to the ambitions of the club. Well we spent a fortune on the likes of Rodwell and look where that got us.
Smart thinking, shrewd acquisitions and not paying overinflated wages/fees to people who offer no improvement is exactly what we should be doing. When an opportunity arises to improve things then you should pay the right price to do so. It’s about getting a balance but supporters just want to see millions flooding out of the club. They’ll never learn

Thank you @samwise_new a calm assessment of the situation as l would see it.

@LD19SAFC and @TopCat_SMB pleased do not make allegations unless you have substantial proof and if you have proof take it to the proper authorities and let them deal with it.
