I read somewhere that the sale of White and Cucurella was more than the Amex cost to build , sweet business
The Falmer Stadium, as that's it's real name apparently, cost £93m. White was free, Cucurella cost £15m and they were sold for a combined £106m + £7m add-ons. Brighton's 12 year American Express sponsorship more than paid for the stadium. £100m in total for a £93m stadium? That's an excellent deal for them. Seems like a cheap ground too, which is odd for modern, expensive Brighton.
Slow mundane Italian football will suit him. In fact Ndombele and Winks would probably look good in Serie A too
His entire game is based on close control and releasing the ball at the last possible second. It’s why he does better in Spain where players have a bit more protection and the game is slightly slower. I imagine Italy will suit him for similar reasons. In the PL, he was one of our best players when the league restarted post-COVID and my going theory is that it’s because players weren’t all fully fit so he had the extra heartbeat or two of time to use the ball. Otherwise he just keeps getting knocks and isn’t quite good enough to deal with the PL at full intensity. IMO, take the money and run. We really did mess up with him and Tanguy.
If anything La Liga would probably suit Winks best, as the game will be more open so he'll have pockets to send the ball forward which he hasn't really been able to do for us since Dembele fell apart I honestly have no idea which league Ndombele would be a good fit for. He's direct enough for the Bundesliga but would likely die of a coronary within six months, would suit the pace of Serie A but would get kicked to death either by opponents or his manager for him slacking off, and he has the skill for La Liga but doesn't have the nous to make the percentage ball so would give the ball away constantly In other words, anyone at Benfica we fancy swapping him for...?
Watched a young kid named Messi score a good goal today.Quick, call Chelsea! He'll be a snip at 180 million!!!!!
Over the course of the weekend we've gone from Villarreal not having the money to buy Lo Celso and Fiorentina stealing a march on them, to having the money for Lo Celso and Ndombele Pretty sure they'll buy Lo Celso and loan Ndombele, but this rumour does have me thinking that Paratici has something up his sleeve...
Somehow he's gone from being on the verge of joining Fiorentina on Friday to Fiorentina being banished to the Shadow Realm by Monday
For me, the truly great thing about this transfer window is that the season is up and running with the squad the manager desired, and on-pitch it matters not to the cause whether any of the likes of GLC and NDombele have been shifted out first.
