Carlisle 125 Interesting to see Kellett target this race again with Deconso , who won this last year . Kellett is 3 from 3 at Carlisle in the last 12 months .the warning is Deconso has been out of form (but this was the case last year). The 50/1 on offer looks like they have no chance , but on the strength of past and Kelletts shrewdness here over the past 12 months i think an ew bet with 3 places is well worth a chance.
16:40 Ffos Las - Mountain Ash Speculative selection in this Class-6 Handicap over 1-mile on good-to-soft ground. Very much sprint-bred being by sire Sir Prancealot, but on dam's side he's by the champion American sire El Prado, a son of Sadler's Wells, going back to the Northern Dancer line. So, will take a chance that Mountain Ash will see-out the trip. He quite obviously doesn't like firm going, so should be suited to the eased ground conditions, and could well surprise. Experienced jockey, Ross Coakley, rides for the Rod Millman yard. 8/1 best price at time of writing, freely-available. At these odds, E/W best option.
Ransom 15.35 Nev must have an E/W chance at 9/1 far from me criticising Attivo but it looks like you have got out of Cinc with the date pretty sure today is the 25th August I sort of know because it’s my birthday today
I will take an ew chance on Bletcheley Storm in the 1.00 Chelmsford. Michael Bell does well at this track and this horse holds an entry for the £150,000 TATTERSALLS OCTOBER AUCTION STAKES (2). The Bell yard without a winner last 14 days but several runners reached a place. Dylan Hogan rode a winner at York last week. The horse could run well for each way purposes today I think.
Navan Small bet 15,35 Church Mountain 14/1 e/w PP five places, betfair four, others 12/1 four places Newcastle 18,45 Give It Some Teddy 10/1 e/w four places, 17/2 sky five places
My goodness, Mountain Ash ran a fine race, just getting run out of it by 3/4 length by Larkin. E/W at the SP of 10/1 good compensation for the defeat. He certainly saw out the mile well.
Seldom give more than one selection during the day, but will take a chance with trainer Jim Goldie's Be Proud in the finalé at Newcastle tonight (20:45) Tricky 5f. sprint handicap to finish the day, but gelding should run well regardless. Ryan Sexton (5) on board for the Goldie yard. After which, I wish you all a very Good Night!
