Mick Beale: "Integrity and loyalty are big things for me, and if they are the values you live by you have to be strong. I have been all-in here and I have asked other people to be all-in so I can't be the first person to run away from the ship."

Surely no-one could jump ship after those words …. Could they? Would they?

I was going to say that our club needs to get in front of a tv camera and tell the world, our manager is NOT for sale.

He should not have to keep repeating himself ever time another club comes along.

Would feel v odd having turned down the Wolves job so recently, especially to move to such a poor league, but stranger things have happened.

It won't look good on him if he comes to us after saying what he did when Wolves were in for him and I hope he doesn't come to us in all honesty.

Posts on twitter saying he will be announced as new Rangers manager by Monday.

Also, his twitter page has suddenly disappeared. It's not looking good.

After all that talk of morals, loyalty and integrity, he would look like a right **** if this turns out to be true

In which case we would be best off without him.

Didn’t I see him pictured at a Glasgow Rangers match a few weeks ago? His Twitter page might have gone because whatever his decision he will receive abuse, and can probably live without it.

I wonder if we can tempt Eustace back if needed. Doing a good job in nightmare circumstances at Brum, familiar with our set up.

Must say given our recent run of form I’m more relaxed about this than when Wolves came knocking. Of course I’d prefer him to stay, but….meh, whatever.

Michael Beale to Rangers LIVE as Ally McCoist admits he’d rather have Sean Dyche as boss
QPR boss Beale is the clear frontrunner to succeed Gio van Bronckhorst and things are set to pick up pace at the end of this week.

Rangers are homing in on Michael Beale
The move to appoint Giovanni van Bronckhorst's successor at Rangers is picking up pace and Michael Beale is now the clear frontrunner.

Record Sport exclusively revealed at the start of the week that QPR wouldn't stand in the 42-year-old Londoner's way and everything now points to him becoming the Ibrox side's 18th permanent manager.

So now we know...the only way we get promotion is if we have a muppet for a manager that no-one wants, and then rely on him making constant lucky decisions so we scrape up as a fluke. Depressing

I personally wouldn't employ a manager who talks about loyalty and integrity, qualities he apparently lives by..mmm

One piece of hopefully useful context to remember.

As far as I'm aware, SLF has only been in charge of the last two managerial appointments. While I know there was a difference of opinion about if it was time for MW to go, he left the club in a far better place than he found it and was by most metrics a qualified success. Beale, so far, is also proving to be a success.

Beale going is only an issue if the next appointment is bad, and so far SLF has done a good job of hiring managers.

He should have made a statement after the Wolves approach that he is committed to the club until the end of the season and will not consider any other approaches.
There should be a transfer window for managers. It’s so disruptive to clubs mid season.

All this talk of Beale going almost makes me want to have Not So Dim Tim Sherwood appointed as our next manager……..

No bugger will ever want to take him off us!

All the Twitter noise is from Scottish media outlets and Rangers sites saying things like "QPR expect Beale to leave" and "QPR break silence" etc. But I can't find any evidence of any direct quotes from the club.

The way our fans are reacting to what at the moment is speculation it's no surprise he's closed his social media.

So was the Wolves deal ! Don't believe the hype , its all bollox. I have it on good authority that Rangers are in talk with someone completely different . You have to ask yourself why leave a higher standard of football to go to what in all reality is a League 1 division , after turning down a chance to go to the Premier League ?

I hope he stays with you. Myself and the vast majority of Rangers fans don't want him at this stage, too much of a gamble. Out of interest, who is the completely different person that we are speaking to?
