Martin Terrier's name has come up again While he definitely has some eye catching attributes, especially his pace and eye for goal, there is one issue I can see: he mainly plays as a LW for Rennes, so if we play 343 there's a Son-shaped barrier preventing him from starting - yet if we think that he can fill in as a RW due to being right-footed, then there's Deki and Richarlison as barriers to starting That being said, it does seem that Paratici is getting the feelers out for another position, since Terrier and Marcus Thuram both have a similar profile of being pacey forwards who can play as a LW if required with end product (and both French, which I'll presume is a coincidence...), and this does fit with both the rumours of Lucas not being long for the club coupled with Bryan being linked with a January loan
Just a thought... Seeing how far off the pace Juventus are this season, what's the likelihood that they'll look to re-sign Rapenaldo to get the fans distracted? Or, to put it another way, what're the odds that Juventus will need to balance their wages come January, something which Paratici will be more than willing to help them with...?
GK Watch No, we're not re-signing Nkoudou... Since Graeme Bailey at 90mins keeps linking us with keepers, I may as well list them now - Diogo Costa (Porto) - David Raya (Brentford) - Jordan Pickford (Everton) - Robert Sanchez (Brighton) - Illan Meslier (Leeds) On top of that, he claims we've been offered a couple - Edouard Mendy (Chelsea) - Wojciech Szczesny (Juventus) I think we can safely rule out the last two as "complete bollocks"
I think Sanchez is very good and would be the right age for a long term option. He’ll also have only 2 years left on his deal this coming summer. Meslier isn’t polished enough IMO and I know nothing of the Porto keeper.
Sanchez and Meslier would be my preferred options, in that order too. Think both will be top, top keepers within a set amount of years but Sanchez is probably a year or two ahead in development - and age - so stereotypically should be more mentally astute and mature with less rash decision making. Can get a good 8-10 years from him and 10+ from Meslier so both really good investments when you’re likely gonna need to pay £40m+ for either.
Blast from the Past Watch Het Nieuwsblad report that we've looking to sign Club Brugge RW Andreas Skov Olsen in January, supposedly at the recommendation of PEH Yes, that is the same Andreas Skov Olsen we were linked with three years ago when he was at Nordsjaelland, before he opted to join Bologna - who joined Brugge in January and has hit a vein of form, with six goals and three assists in 15 games this season on top of the six goals and eight assists in 15 games he picked up after joining them midway through last season Look, it's a refreshing break from reading Weston McKennie's name thrice daily...
Juventus Fire Sale Watch* With the news of the Agnelli family resigning en masse ahead of potential indictments for picking transfer fees out of thin air so they didn't have to declare €216m in losses, there is only one way to look at the situation So, who's Paratici going to swoop for in order to help them out of their potential strife when Serie B comes calling once more...? The Habitually Linked Weston McKennie (CM, 24yo, USA, contracted until 2025) Federico Chiesa (RW, 25yo, Italy, contracted until 2025) Dusan Vlahovic (CF, 22yo, Serbia, contracted until 2026) Filip Kostic (LWB, 30yo, Serbia, contracted until 2026) Bremer (CB, 25yo, Brazil, contracted until 2027) Add to that we could gazump Manuel Locatelli and/or Leandro Paredes from under them, given they're both loans but without an option to buy
Bremer, McKennie and Chiesa would be ideal for the Spurs squad Lots of clubs will be looking at these 3 though
Sean Walsh (no, not the unfunny comedian who shagged his Come Dancing partner while engaged to somebody else) claims we've enquired about Denzel Dumfries, with Inter needing to sell one player to balance the books If they're that desperate for cash, surely we should be thinking of Bastoni or Skriniar instead of a sideways step at RB?
Vlahovic would cost an absolute fortune but a very smart move as a long term successor to Kane, who I think will reject a new contract and leave this summer.
McKennie - not for me now that we have Bentancur and Bissouma along with Hojbjerg and Skipp. If we’re adding another CM it should be a creator. Kostic - yes please, releases us from having to watch Sess again. Bremer - yes please, upgrades CCB. Chiesa - not for me, great player but should steer clear of anyone that’s had a cruciate, which is why I don’t want Zaniolo either, who’s had two! Vlahovic - never happening. Dumfries - yes please, upgrades RWB, albeit all of us on here would upgrade RWB - and I’m strictly left-footed!
Bayern Munich are working to sign Tottenham's England striker Harry Kane, 29, in a deal that could cost between 80m and 100m euros. (Sky Sports Germany)
I think it’s time to cash in on Kane. There’s no way he wants to finish his career with spurs without the trophies and quite frankly I’m bored of the whole saga. We have had excellent players in the past and we move on. No reasons why we can’t do so again.
