Our shape without the ball looks much better, we seemed to play a slightly higher line, but kept them to minimal chances. This was one of Liam's priorities, improve our defending, and against a good Turkish side, we did just that. Going forward we still need to improve, Rome wasn't built in a day, but clear signs of improvement.
I wonder if Tyler Smith has got a future. He seems to do alright in friendlies and then fluffs his chances to perform in the league. Suspect he’s got a very short window to persuade the club to keep him.
this match was played at 30% intensity its for fitness and shake off rustiness people reading way too much xd
how did Latula play? Interesting to see his progress. Sounds like he may be knocking on the First team squad door??
Agree on that NT looked very comfortable or should I say more comfortable than others playing out from the back...
It's a bit weird to me that people seem to be more or less ignoring the three games we've played under Rosenior, which have seen an upturn in results and a significant improvement in performances. We basically overnight became a team that dominates the ball and allows the opposition far less chances to score. But we're ignoring that and instead hyper-analysing a friendly draw against a top Turkish side, which isn't even a bad thing anyway.
I'm sure they were some on here calling him a pointless signing in the summer. He'll probably turn out to be a massive bargain. It's great to see the younger ones being integrated in this mid season break as it was something Shota did appallingly in pre season. I thought C Jones showed glimpses too despite not being a no.10
None of us have any idea how good Lo-Tutala is. When he's good enough to play in the first team I'm sure he will.
How many young keepers we had and posters have said how brilliant they’re going to be? Might be this one
