He would indeed ... and with your lot he will undoubtedly increase his wages ... if not the prestige of his UK domestic silverware haul ... Carabou Cavaliers ... innit
Your maths is flawed ... Champions in 2015/16 (dream on) ... plus 2 top 6 finishes since ... and an FA Cup win to boot ... dream on and on and on ... ... the fact that only Citeh, Liverpool and Chelsea, with all their spending power, have bettered that haul, in the same time frame, really does put your post into perspective... but thanks for playing anyway ...
So that's twice in the last six and a half seasons. Do you expect to finish top 6 in the remaining half of this season?
I have no dreams of the title this season mate, top 4 will do me for a first season. The thing is i can hope for better next season but your lot are on a steep downward slope
... in all seriousness, I'm more than happy with where we are at this point ... poor start .... changes needed ... and we'll likely see Soyuncu, Vestergaard, Perez and Praet exiting with some, potentially, excellent young talent (Tetè, Kristiansen +) coming in ... plus Ricardo, Ndidi and Soumare are all close to returning from injury ... also, Iversen kept his third clean sheet in 3 first team appearances at the weekend... so I hope Brenda will finally wake up and smell the goalkeeping coffee ... all of that combined will see us with a youthful but quality squad to see out the rest of what is, unquestionably, a 'transitional' season ...
I have no idea why Ward got games, the man looks a liability to me (was Iverson injured?) Not sure about your CB Faes, i know you boosted him a few weeks back but since then he has looked weak every time iv'e seen him (which in fairness is not very often). You do have a very decent squad and sometimes i think a new manager would get more out of them.
Faes is a fine signing ... mare against Liverpool admittedly... but he is just what we were lacking ... quick aggressive and good distribution... pair him with a better partner than Amartey and he will be good for years to come ... a fit again Pereira will be a huge plus ... as for Ward ... never been a fan ... Iversen is far more commanding ... and deserves a run ... but arguably the best long term keeper option is Stolarcyzk (SP) ... Polish lad in his early 20s who has just returned from loan ... my inside sources been raving about him ...
a league and cup winning side in last 10 years in fringe of relegation, you are happy about that. Wow.
If Sunderland won the league and FA Cup, I would gladly accept a triple relegation and a decade of 4th division football.
At the end of this season it would be 7 seasons since you won the league, unless you think you’re getting top 6 this year. That is what I replied to Tel with. All of the other guff you’ve posted is completely irrelevant
Tel said Leicester have been genuine top 6 contenders for however many years. He didn't say they've finished in the top 6 on any number of occasions. When Leicester finished outside the top 6 those other seasons, they were still challenging the top 6. Tel was right with his original post.
Surely to be genuine contenders, means that you either finish 6 or better or miss out on goal difference. I’m pretty sure there next best finish has been 9th, so I wouldn’t say that’s “top 6 contenders”
I get confused these days with so many people going on about top six, so thought I best remind myself of the table... 14 Leicester20-71815 Leeds19-71816 West Ham20-81817 Wolves20-1817 18 Bournemouth20-231719 Everton20-131520 Southampton20-1815 please log in to view this image
the reality is that since 2015/16 we've been more successful than 3 of the so called Big 6 and every other English club ... any fan of a club outside the Big 6 would kill for such an achievement... and I'll continue to remind everyone ... and certainly rub it in as far as those teams in the Big 6 that are still chasing after those achievements are concerned...
