American police are ****ed up.
A lot of them are Tyrants that dont even know the law of the land they are supposed to be policing.
US police all swear to uphold the US constitution but most of them havent got the first ****ing clue what it says in their constitution.
Some good youtube channels for viewing US police transgressing are Audit the Audit and the Lacklustre channel (search them on Youtube).

Some of these police are out of control and even when their crimes are filmed, rarely do they receive the punishment they deserve.
Some get fired and then move to the next state and get a job there, since when you are fired as a US cop you are only banned from policing in that particular state, but you can just move 30 miles down the road and get another job (funnily enough their police training certifications are valid across all US states, but not their bans), when the reality of it is, a lot of them should be in prison.
Most US cops ACTUALLY think that they can just stop a random person and ID them, and that the person HAS to ID themselves or they guilty of obstruction.....most US cops actually think this, when (with the exception of a few stop and ID states) its not the case AT ALL.

Our police are ****ing awesome compared to American police and it makes me glad I dont live in that country, being policed by a tyrannical violent gang.
There are some good ones sure, but if the good ones let the bad ones do bad ****, and help cover their asses, then they are just as bad in my view.

I've been out to the States more times than I can remember, also had family living out there, never once had a run in with the cops. Surely you would have had to have done something wrong initially to attract cop attention - much like I got booked once for a minor traffic violation out there, but I don't get lippy with the cops, much the same as I don't get lippy with British cops when they pull me over. I don't try to run for it, and I'm talking about many various situations - I just listen, understand what I did wrong, and take my punishment, which could be a simple slap on the wrist to not do it again.

I've seen hundreds of videos of people being arrested for filming in a public place (which is legal), ive seen people placed in cuffs for bruising a cops ego.
In the US, you cant get arrested for being "lippy" to cops, because to arrest someone for being lippy to you is a violation of the first amendment.
Demanding ID of someone when you do not have an articulable reason to suspect them of a crime is a fourth amendment violation.
The laws work very different in the US.

I dont necessarily agree with all the US' laws (like the second amendment, which I will never get my head around) but if they are the law of the land, and you have sworn to uphold the law of the land, then if you fail to do so, you should be struck off at the least, or sent to jail if it ends up in someone being hurt or killed.

 

Like I said Bod and you've confirmed, you've been watching too many bad cop movies. You're not talking about your time out there, all of your experience of US cops comes from the internet lol.

As for filming in a public place, I've seen people (on the internet) get hassle for that by cops in this country, the same with drones, so you need to widen your search to balance things out - like everything with the internet, you can be sure of always finding what you are looking for.

My personal experience of cops is you get attention if you go looking for it.

When I was younger, the cops knocking on the door was a weekly occurrence, sometimes they made shhite up, but the reality was the attention was deserved.

If you don't behave they'll threaten to give you a slap down the cells, US cops appear to give that slap more publically, so not even hiding it. I repeat I'm talking about various situations here, not one case in particular.

I couldnt give a **** about anecdotes that people have experienced themselves. If you live in an area with decent police and you behave yourself, yes of course your chances of running afoul of a tyrant are minimised, but I have seen too many examples of people who have done **** all of an unlawful nature, that have been ****ed over because a cop's ego has been bruised.
The sheer volume of videos (hundreds of hundreds) means that at best US police need re training.
When a lot of them aren't even aware of simple ID laws, that becomes a problem.
I saw a video of kid being detained by multiple police because he was picking up trash outside his frat house and a cop saw him and thought he was suspicious.
The cop asked him for ID and he rightfully refused, because the fourth amendment says he doesnt have to ID himself unless the cop can articulate a crime he was committing. Yes he could have just ID'd himself, but if you dont use your rights, you lose your rights and the cop had no right to demand ID under penalty of arrest.
The cop even radioed for back up saying he was armed with a weapon....his weapon? A litter picker. That kind of **** can get a kid shot.

That is just one of literally hundreds of videos I have witnessed.
