LOL.Wouldn’t have been watching as I normally watch City on ifollow on my tele but had trouble with it so watched City on a stream on my ipad and the rugby on tele.
Have to say England may be in transition, but I doubt we'll reach the heights under Borthwick, very boring pack orientated style with kick and rush tactics from the backs. Let em off the leash and try expansive rugby ffs. It's like watching England of yesteryear
I didn't see it, bit time short at weekends as do training sessions when onshore so have to pick and choose what I watch. I thought England and Wales looked terrible every time the ball came out of rucks, the movement of the ball slowed down, game got bogged down and any fluidity was killed, so any advantage was nullified. Big steps backwards in technical prowess, but could have just been an off-game as haven't watched England religiously the last few years. James Roby should be retiring in the next year or so... A union club or national team could do a lot worse than getting him in to coach.
Agree about Eng v Wales. 2 poor teams = poor game. Not sure what Borthwick's trying to do with Eng, looks like the only way he knows is the old way where you try and steamroller the opposition. The game's moved on since then, in fact he's just released Marcus Smith from the squad, he was one of the brighter lights of young players coming through.
Just awaiting grandson texting to say told you so,He is down at the rugby club watching it with his mates. He doesn’t rate Marcus Smith. It was postulated that he was brought in because France kick further than any other team and he was more nippy than Farrell and could carry the ball further. So what do we do? Keep kicking it and the French didn’t keep kicking it back and ran with the ball. He was right when he said it wouldn’t work. Clever little sod.
The footballing equivalent would be man u losing 7-0 at HOME to Liverpool. England laughably **** yesterday, could get worse next week tbh
