That was just the British License holder, the brand itself is fine. They used the Rangers case as an excuse (allegedly) for being unable to fulfil its obligations however throwing the cash around that they did was never going to end well. I've no detail on the football deals other than Everton were the only club who had the foresight to deal direct with the brand (via fanatics) but I do know for sure that errea were paying Wigan Warriors an unreal amount of money to be their Kit Supplier and Hummel doubled it!! It was a loss leader for errea who happened to get several Super League titles and lots of great publicity from Wigan but there was no way on gods earth Hummel could have done anything other than lose about £300k a year on Wigan Warriors. If you consider they did Hull FC a stupid deal as well and then take into account the money they sloshed about in football you start to understand why they were so easy to fold.

Brands like Macron can throw some cash about because their product is easily obtained by amatuer and grassroots sides UK wide so all of their pro deals are propped up by grassroots sport wearing Macron gear. It was actually very difficult to get your hands on Hummel product so they had a massive shortfall of income.

I've a feeling they will hold onto some of their best partnerships such as Everton on direct deals and slowly slide back into the shadows of the 4 or 5 world famous brands.

They shut down years ago, someone registered a company called Bukta Sportswear Limited a few years ago, presumably with a view to relaunching it, but all the trade marks are owned by someone in Singapore and the company has never actually traded.

I was expecting to be in the sportswear business next season (fashion sportswear, rather than actual sportswear), I agreed a substantial deal to acquire the Aertex brand, but the guy changed his mind and backed out. He's nearly 80, has owned it for decades without really making anything out of it and now I suspect he never will. I'm still baffled as to why he walked.

Didn't they make school PE clothes in the 1980s?

Admiral seem to have made a comeback.. seen them on a few US club shirts when I was over last year.

They did become known for schoolwear in the 80's, but they had a rather more impressive heritage before then...

As I said, they've done nothing with it for years, but they did have some decent imagery, one of the oldest UK registered trade marks and a decent logo...

They've always been active in North America. A friend of mine, sort of friend of a close friend but I've met him a few times for beers etc, owns Admiral Canada and I think also the US.
