20 years on from the Ridsdale era but wonder if anyone has softened on him. Krasner, McKenzie then Bates, Cellino, GFH and Haigh and then much happier time thanks to Radz and him buying back ER. But 20 years is a long long time of crap thanks to the mismanagement back then

If O’Leary had managed to finish 3rd that fateful season the club may well have been saved and not had to go through the years of hurt. The Coca Cola stadium build would have got under way, so a free stadium just off the M1 at Temple Newsam would mean Ridsdale selling ER and making a fortune for the club which would have staved off the wolf from the door and obviously Champions League cash flowing in too.

Firpo seems to have stopped all talk of us needing a LB

Do we offer Ayling another year?

Do we keep Cresswell, Hjelde and Bate or loan them out/sell?

Fulham and Brentford are 9th and 8th respectively and my view is that these clubs are there because of their coach’s. I believe we are good enough to be in that region of the table but for a wasted year of having the wrong coach. We played Fulham off the park in the FA Cup and would have been 0-1 up at their place as Georginio scored a good goal. They won due to a couple of worldies. So hoping that Javi Gracia is sorting out a couple of issues over this couple of weeks and then able to show another improvement. Yeah I know nobody is too good to go down but I’m betting this squad is close to it and only wish we had sorted out the coaching issue whilst the World Cup break was on.

Tuchel will be taking over at FC Bayern shortly as the club are on the verge of sacking Julian Nagelsman, keep your eyes peeled for where JN ends up. I write this at 8am Friday and I hear Tuchel has accepted the gig and Nagelsman has already been sacked. One to watch as he may end up at Spurs even though fans want Pochetino.

Arsenal have joined Leeds, AC Milan and Sevilla in the race for Barcelona's Spain Under-19 winger Ilias Akhomach, 18. I heard this deal had already been agreed and signed? I looked at some clips of this kid and he looks phenomenal but plenty of kids do. He is a ball magnate and his teammates seek him out constantly, he is always double teamed by opposition but he usually leaves them for dead or has his legs kicked from underneath him. One to watch this kid.

Speaking of so called wonder kids, what happened to Amari Miller. Some will remember we bought this kid from Birmingham City at the same time we bought Lewis Bate from Chelsea. Miller is Jude Bellingham’s best mate and they went through the BCFC Academy together. We all know what happed to Jude but Miller who is the same age as Jude has struggled at Leeds. There is a story that he has been ripping it up in training and Gracia is now taking an interest in him. He had a few games for the 23s last season where he got goals and assists and stood out. But the 23s were blighted last season due to first team injuries and they were relegated. If Miller fulfils his potential then who knows because at this stage Miller seems to have been the only waste of money Orta has made on kids over the last 3 seasons. However we all know kids develop at different speeds so hoping young Amari has got his head around what he needs to do now.

Hopefully we can soon announce that Gracia is the new long term coach and then concentrate on the playing squad for another season in the PL.

It’s been nothing but drama ever since Bielsa was sacked which says it all really.

Ridsdale gambled and lost (with the full backing of the board, who threw him under the bus afterwards).

He was reckless and desperate, though had best intentions at heart, especially when you consider how we were used and abused under Bates and GFH.

Ridsdale absolutely buried O'Leary, who was made out to be a liar, cheat (bungs) and thief, and never managed again in the UK following his (Ridsdale's) book going live in 2007.

Am I angry at how Ridsdale (and board) almost destroyed our club - of course I am, but to threaten him, and his family and even attack him shows we have some absolute scum in our fan base.

    Allan Leighton
Deputy Chairman of Leeds United Football Club from 1999-2003
Allan Leighton, the Royal Mail chairman and former deputy chairman of Leeds United, has warned business leaders that they should not get involved in the running of football clubs.

In an interview carried on the City video news service Cantos, Mr Leighton said his experience at Leeds United had proved to him that sport and business don't go together: "People are right - never mix."

His comments come just as there is a clamour for a business person to sort out the Football Association, following the resignation of FA chief executive Mark Palios. Mr Palios's predecessor, Adam Crozier, was hired by Mr Leighton to be chief executive of Royal Mail.

Mr Leighton joined the board of Leeds Sporting, as it was then called, in the late 1990s, becoming deputy chairman of the company in 1999. He stayed on the board until late last year, when he quit to work with a consortium aiming to rescue the ailing club.

While he was on the board, Leeds United ran up debts of nearly £100m in an attempt to turn itself into a club challenging for top honours. When that failed, it ran into severe financial difficulty and went into administration earlier this year before being relegated from the Premier League.

Leighton kept his head down and heaped all the blame on Ridsdale.

Fulham, Brentford and Brighton are clubs we should be all over to see what makes them tick.

The madness of football and why some club directors should be prosecuted. Bayern Munich poached Julian Nagelsman and had to pay £5m in compensation to get him, hes on £5m per year so will have to pay him his wages until 2025 so will have cost Bayern £20m for no reward. Nagelsman sacked for being 1 point off the top of the league and just beat PSG to go through to the Champions League quarter finals.? They employed him and knew everything about him but to come out today and say he doesn’t dress well, is not diplomatic, is too young (35) …

But there are plenty of fans who feel Radz doesn't spend enough. None of us were complaining at the time when Ridsdale was spending big, none of us complained that Radz spent big in January (or someone did). It is so easy to complain in hindsight, we all moan when we feel not enough has been spent then we cry when it backfires

I just fail to get excited any more over the next 18, 19, 20 year old set to join with the accompanying headline we beat off Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool (insert any top club). It is the here and now who we need to be signing, with Rutter, Sinisterra, Summerville and Gnonto surely it is experience we should be looking for.

Ayling it depends on Drameh, I don't feel Kristensen is good enough, I think Firpo is average and Bate needs to go, he is in a poor Oxford team struggling at the wrong end of division one, Cresswell the coach who is leading us into next season should take a look at him and Hjelde over preseason

I personally feel that we have an opportunity to fill the LB slot with one of the best in the business - Kieran Tierney. He's out of favour at Arse atm, so perhaps we have a chance. He's got an unbelievable engine & is equally happy to play CB. For Scotland, he often plays CB, but operates as a second LB with Robinson, which is one of the main reasons Scotland are playing so much better than usual. Don't know how much it would cost, but I for one wouldn't hesitate.

2 years left on his contract at the end of this season, so I guess arsenal will be either looking to extend contract or move him on during summer transfer window. Imagine there would be a few clubs interested, so can't see him being cheap, especially as rumoured Newcastle are interested in him. According to talkshite radio Arsenal want at least £25m

If I remember correctly the two main incidents that cost us a Champions League spot in 2001 were the disallowed goal against the Scum (own goal by Wes Brown), which was scandalous. Then Liverpool V Everton, the Pool keeper kicks the ball out, it rebounds off Duncan Ferguson's back (who was running away from goal) and ends up in the back of the net. For some bizarre reason the ref decided to disallow that one too. Leeds finished 1 point behind Liverpool in 4th. And Wolves fans whinge about a conspiracy against them!!!

The disallowed goal against scum, was that the game that Harte got bought down by Bartez, then missed his spot kick?

So Aaronson scores and McKennie scores 2 for USA but Wober injured before half time for Austria.

Also hearing that any points deduction Everton get for cooking the books will happen next season, not this even though Leeds and Burnley flagged up this problem last season, it’s taken them a year to charge them, its a joke. Everton should already be in the Championship
