15:35 Warwick - Moveit Like Minnie 2m5f Class-3 Handicap Hurdle.on good-to-soft ground. Should go well if fit from 157-day break. Wears tongue-strap. Talented conditional, Finn Lambert (5), rides for the Nigel Twiston-Davies yard. Possible favourite? 7/2 best price at this early hour. .................... 16:35 Warwick - Out Out The newcomer is just a sporting punt in the Bumper for the Skelton team. Dam, Hestina, was very useful and was a 1-1/2 mile winner twice on the flat, and a 2m/2m1f winner 3-times over hurdles.. SP will have to do in this event! ....................
I really like Politicus today in the 2:00. She improved for her races last season, and I think she showed enough in the last two bumpers to suggest that she can improve into a decent handicapper in time. Today she meets an Olly Murphy horse who looks very short in the market, interestingly Fergal will have a good line on her form as he trained both the horse that beat Little Miss Dante on debut and the horse that finished second to her when she won at Southwell. I dare say that Politicus is better than both of those horses and I think the market has them wrong today. It is quite an interesting race, and to be fair an interesting card. I will have pen and paper at the ready, to note down any eyecatchers. Then it finishes with a bumper. Stick will no doubt have something to say about that race.
I like GOT A DREAM in the bumper. 16/1 in a place but generally less. Nice pedigree and and they paid a fair chunk for it. For a yard like this they will want it to be decent.
Who is this trainer Miss Martin, Stick? Is it a Miss J. Martin and where does she train her horses? Tried to find out for myself, but without succcess.
Really! Nicky Martin, trains out of Minehead in Somerset. Her best two known horses would be Bear Ghylls and The Two Amigos.
Never mind, Nass, horseracing can be a right bitch sometimes. If I was having a go in this race it would be e/w on Selkirk Grace. There, that's put the mockers on that one.
Actually, Stick, was very tired so went to bed real early. I think you could possibly be referring to the Bamford business in the game at Leeds? Reading about it, what a flipping mess. I am thoroughly fed-up with the 2nd-tier football. Never thought I'd see the club in such a terrible mess. Sorry, if I've got it all wrong, and it was something else you were referring to.
Hi Nass. Do you have stats on horses that have changed stables? If so are you able to spot which trainers at the new stable has the highest success rates and (more importantly, for me) the success rate of horses leaving a particular stable. It would also be interesting to break it down by age and sex and the year of change. I'm looking to identify trainers who are not/have not been very good with certain categories of horses (or even any) and which trainers are/have been particularly good with certain categories of horses (or even any). I suppose in those stats it might be seen if some have fared worse since the move, which might indicate a shrewd trainer correctly assessing a horse's limitations
Both players involved in this incident said no contact was made by either player. QPR will officially appeal against the red card, so there is a good chance the red card will be thrown-out after the arbitration people hear the evidence from the aforementioned two players.
Bloody hell. I must have looked at that about 20 times clicking away at the pause button. I'm not sure what will happen. It was outside the penalty box so the goalie couldn't touch it with his hands. He was unlikely to try heading it as he would have probably got kicked in the head. So he had no option but to get his foot on it. Both players feet were high. Initially it looks very much like a dive but maybe the goalie clipped Brampton's foot on the follow through. It looks as though the goalie had no chance of winning the ball so one could argue it was a reckless challenge by him. My clicking on the pause button was not clear enough to see if there was contact or not but if there wasn't - I really don't know. If it had happened up field would it have been a red. If it is argued the goalie fouled and prevented a goal scoring opportunity it may well be a red; but there were 2 defenders to the rescue so would he have scored? I'm glad it isn't me having to decide. Whatever the decision, Brampton should be able to get a role in acting when his footballing career is over
Both players have stated that there was no contact. If you want a real laugh Ron find the one from last Saturday when Sinclair Armstrong goes down under a challenge from the Coventry keeper.
