QPRBeth - you are right. we do not appear to hav a "spine" in the team and from what I watched yesterday we were cut open in the middle very easily. I know NW had to do last minute buying after TF took over, but it is more apparent than ever that we need TF to splash th cash on Bassong, Ridgewell, Onucha (probably spelt that name wrong) and Defeo. We also need Barton to start playing like he England international he thinks he is or get one other in. Personally, I would like to see AT given more game time because if AT really wants to lay for a bigger club, then we should provide him with the stage on which to perform.

I cant believe we let in 2 goals from corners. It could have been three had Bentner not hit the post in the first half. Connolly was no-where near him for the goal and the time he hit the post. Rubbish defending and we deserved to lose! Gorkkes would have done a better job. We cannot win a premiership game with Gabbidon and Connolly Centre backs and one upfront. It will never happen! Warnock got it all wrong!

    1. Not enough penetration (as the actress said to the bishop). All too often when the ball goes forward and instead of trying to go through the defence or slip a pass through (no runners to receive) it is slowed down and moves from left to right, and vice-versa, until someone is closed down ... then it goes back via three passes to the goalkeeper.

    2. Passes are all to often behind a player going forward. It seems like "hit and hope" in the general direction.

    3. Defence is a shambles. Not necessarily because of the players, but the way they are being played. They all move up, the full backs head off up the wing and we are left wide open on the counter attack. All the opposition have to do is play the ball into the space.

We haven't been helped recently by constantly changing centreback pairing.

As I said on another thread .... it won't matter who they bring in if they continue to play in this sort of way - Warnock's way.

Good post - what will define Warnock is not the one-sided platitudes he sometimes comes out with at the end of games, but how he uses the January money. He worked wonders in bringing in the players that he did in a short space of time before the season started, after the Goons left. Now he has time to think, money to work with and a highly supportive management. He has to produce the goods - and I think he will.

Agreed, Ruislip. He has to get it right in Jan, or he'll be on his way. Personally, I think though we may lose Adel, NW will bring good players in (generally, he has a gift for spotting talent) and it will start to come right.

We had this problem last season remember? We didn't cruise the Championship at all once we went 4-5-1 in home games. We seriously need 4-4-2 at home allowing crosses to come in and Tarararabat to play the free roving role.

My biggest gripe is the ****e passing and losing possession in midfield. Step forward Barton & Faurlin. Costing us goals in every game at the moment.

Can't see us getting anything from Swansea or the Arse

Problem with 4 -4-2 is that it tends to leave our defence more exposed, with disastrous results. We need to give them more cover which I am sure is why Derry was playing just in front of them yesterday. Until we get new defenders in and sort our defensive play out, I think we will be playing a lot of 4-2-3-1. Its the system the players are most used to and gives the best defensive cover.

For all his passion and enthusiasm, Warnock just doesn't have enough experience against top teams and its really starting to show. I refused to believe it earlier but his limitations are as obvious as daylight. He says he will rectify the situation in Jan but who in their right mind will want to sign for a club in the bottom 3?

Anyone in the Swans team not scored this millennium? After Brown and Carrick's "heriocs", they must be nailed on for a thirty yard screamer on Boxing Day

How can WARNOCK say they had 3 shots and 3 goals? Paddy saved at least 3 or four shots!

NW's talking about loan signings and for a player to come in and make a difference and help keep us up would give that player great kudos. We're not a crap team. We just need to strengthen, and we've known that since the season started.

I must admit that I'm slightly bemused by some of Warnocks post match comments of late. I know team moral must be low, but to continuously pat them on the back and say they gave it their all, when clearly they didn't is the wrong way to go.

But I think people are laying a little too much blame on Warnock here. Managers get things wrong from time to time. But what use are tactics when your players aren't playing to their abilities?

I'm sure Warnock would love to play Adel every week, as most people are crying out for at the moment. But what a fickle bunch we are as on mass, most people where calling for a public execution of Adel in the center circle at half time, at the next home match after the Fulham massacre. I'm sure there are lots of things Warnock would love to try out, but if the players he's got are up to it or aren't playing well, then what do you do? If Adel is willing to play week in week out like he was last night, then great, but he's not, so what do you want Warnock to do?

We all know Treore isn't working out at left back, but is amazing on the left wing. Simple then, move him up permanently. But who believes that Clint Hill is up to the job of left back in the Premiership?

Bothroyd was lethal at Cardiff last year, but can't hit a barn door at the moment.
    Dj still isn't 100% fit.
Mackie runs till he drops, but has about as much skill as I do.
Faurlin is becoming better all the time, but still isn't the finished package and cant shoot.
Barton still hasn't settled and is well below par at the moment.
Gabbidon, while he seems a lovely guy just hasn't got the legs for the premiership.
Connoly panics with every ball that comes near him.
Ferdinand might work out just fine when he gets a solid partner to work with.
HH is a breath of fresh air this season, but he can win every ball in the air, but all he's doing at the moment is win them for the opposition to start attacking us again because there's no one up there trying to pick the ball up when he wins them.
SWP needs to look at the highlights of his career to remember what he can do.
Young seems to be the only person on the pitch playing to form and who has a clue. He seems to be taking a lot of responsibility on his shoulders atm.

And that basically leaves us with the likes of Buz, Smith, Hill, Derry and a few others who all aren't up to the job.

The team we have is a mix of old and new, old pro's and new. Some performing ok and some well below par. It's true that while last season Warnock made some eye-brow raising decisions which all turned out to be correct, this year it's not happening as much, if at all. But his tactics and decisions can only take effect if his players work for him.

But I believe we have to stick with Warnock for two reasons. So far this season he has had little choice of what team to put out, due to injuries and lack of quality players. Therefore he deserves the full season, come what may because so far he hasn't had the ability to show us what he can do with a full squad.

The second reason we should keep him is this, if the worst does happen and we do get relegated who else would you want in charge to get us back up?? Warnocks the man for that job.

Yes it's frustrating seeing us play so badly, especially when the same players made life so hard for Citeh and Chelsea. But if you want to blame anyone, blame Flav. Most people have seen the FYP by now which clearly shows he is responsible for the **** we're in now. But now he's gone people are looking to blame the people who are left at the club trying to pick up the pieces.

This is football my friends, you have to take the good and the bad. But to place this on Warnocks hands is wrong. Let's see what happens in January and give him a chance. But for gawds sake, get behind him and the team otherwise things will go from bad to worse no matter who we buy.
