You can disagree but you can't call it bollocks. A lot of managers feel that way. Peter Taylor certainly did. There was a quote on Liverpool at the weekend saying Dalglish is in no hurry to bring any old player in because he's worried about the dynamics of the squad.

NP worked hard to build a squad with hunger and desire and one of equals. NB rightly doesn't want to bring in someone who'll rock the boat. Not only with their attitude but their wage. Look at Man United. They paid Rooney stupid money to stay. They've now got a fresh first teamer (Wellbeck) asking for £60k a week and a kid who's barley played a game (Morrison) asking for £30k. That's what happens when you raise the bar for one player.

An experienced manager might manage that situation. We don't have an experienced manager. We have a guy who's learning every day and has taken the most sensible approach to the job. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Adam Pearson has done nothing but support Nick's decisions and make it his business to explain it to supporters. Take as many digs as you like but you are way wide of the mark. I'm not getting into the AP row again. Anyone with a brain knows were we'd be if it wasn't for him.

Pearson saw what happened under the previous regime as did the Allams and Barmby - so of course they will be wary of signing a marquee player on a salary which breaks the current wage structure.

We need to sort out the goal scoring situation (which I know NB and his coaching staff must be trying to get to the root of the problem), and if we do get a new face in (AP's words may be a smokescreen to avoid any other club nabbing our target) hopefully it lifts the other strikers to perform better.

A 6 month loan deal for Roberts, with the offer of a permanent transfer in the summer when he's out of contract if he helps get us promoted would hardly have been going the way of Duffen and co though.

QPR couldn't afford to loan Roberts last season. He's weekly wage is going to be 3/4 times that of most of our players. If NB thinks that sort of thing will rock the boat, we need to support him.

Yes, and he scored the winner on his debut Saturday as they jumped above us in the table. He hadn't when he was first suggested though.

Last season Blackburn weren't stuck in a position where they couldn't play him, and he wasn't in a position where he was going to be unemployed in the summer. I'm sure compared to last year we'd have been able to get him to drop his demands a bit and got Blackburn to subsidise him a bit as well when there was the offer of a 2 year contract on offer for doing well between now and May. At least we could if we'd tried before the billionaire took over at Reading and just gave him an 18 month contract.

He'll be on £18k a week minimum at Reading, plus bonuses. We're not paying that anymore, no way. if anyone expects or wants us too, they are going to be left disappointed.

If we'd gone in at the start of January and told them we'd pay the same towards his wages as we're paying Koren they'd have accepted it. They had a player they couldn't play with only 6 months on his contract. Nobody else was interested at the time so they'd have cut their losses and looked on it as a good saving to make, it's the same thing we're doing with Ghilas.

How do you know? We've no idea what the situation is. All we know is that he was on a load of money at Blackburn (too much for QPR) and he's been sat on his arse for awhile now, a situation that only changed when Reading were taken over by Russian gazzilionaires. That doesn't suggest he was available cheaply to anyone.

The fact he was on national TV saying the manager wanted to have him in the squad but the money men wouldn't let him. If they're stopping him play for financial reasons (triggering new contracts etc) then they're also going to see recouping somewhere around 1/4 million pound towards his wages without him going to a relegation rival as a good move compared to making him sit on his arse.

You're doing it again Tickler, they're top half of the table and going well, they don't need luck, they just need to carry on doing what they're doing.
