David Connolly has bagged 6 for them this season but I assume they've been playing Guly Do Prado (attacking mid, 10 goals) behind Lambert rather than 2 up top.

City have scored two goals in our last five league games.
We have the 8th worst goal scoring record in the championship.
The balance between our forwards hasn't been right since we signed Fryatt and McClean as our two main strikers, yet we are being told that the addition of another striker may upset that balance?
The majority of supporters seem to have no doubt that we need either a goalscorer or a big striker that carves out chances for the other forwards. Are we all wrong?
NB has said he is happy with what he has and I hope he is right, but I'm starting to wonder whether our main onslaught for promotion is being geared for next season and if we get it this time on a tight budget it will be a bonus.

You are starting to wonder? It's been patently obvious since the summer when we signed a couple of United kids, some frees and some loans. We don't have money to throw around. We spent £5m in 2011 and there isn't a great deal more.

As for the rest of your post, stop looking at goals scored. Look at games won and points won.

We've needed a new striker for a long time now and 'goals scored' are an integral part of any successful team.
Yes we have won a lot of games but how many have we lost because we are blunt up front. It could be argued that our defence deserves the credit for more of our points than our strikers.

Not necessarily, depends how well you keep them out.

Score 50 Concede 45 is no better than Scored 15 Concede 10. (Obviously)

Ok so put your money on the table - do you think our current set of strikers will get us enough goals to see us promoted this season?
IMO they won't and therefore the problem needs to be addressed.

I never thought we'd get promoted this season. I didn't think we'd be in the top 6. I don't think we make enough chances and we don't get goals from set pieces. IMO, they are the biggest problems. If we make chances, we have forwards who'll score goals.

To guarantee to get forwards who are better than we have now, I think would cost £3m. We are not spending that.

I agree that we don't have the money to replace our strike force, but both McClean and Fryatt seemed sharper when Adebola was up with them.
We know Adebola isn't the answer, but with the money Mr Allam said was available I think a big striker would have been a good investment.

Completely agree with that. We've been screaming out for a different type of striker for over a year. Either to play on his own up front, to play with McLean/Fryatt or to come off the bench. I think NP knew that and didn't have funds so went for Adebola. I don't think NB agrees though. I think he's wrong if so.

Please forget the Bullard case. That can be dragged on for yonks if the Allams want it to. Not sure what the latest is yet ? But the Allams are a very long way to having to pay Bullard anything further.

Well with news that Gary Hooper has problems at Celtic, why not try and get him ON LOAN if possible. Proven at championship level. As for Billy Sharp, he has only 2 goals more than Fryatt and Koren at the end of the day.

Celtic turned down around £4m from Saints for Hooper a week ago. To let him go on loan would be lunacy.

It's irrelevent to this discussion anyway. We had money to spend in the summer that wasn't spent. At that stage we were going to pay Bullard around £4.5M over the course of the next 2 years.

Since then we've released him, paid him nothing, and IF we lose the case we're due to pay him less than £3M, because with his Ipswich contract signed that's all he's losing out on in earnings.

Even if we thought we were going to lose the case, we're £1.5M better off than we were then so our transfer fund would increase not decrease from that time.

I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY SOME POSTERS AGREE WITH nb COMMENTS THAT HE WILL STICK BY HIS CURRENT SQUAD AND HAS NO NEED FOR A STRIKER. RECENT RESULTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. I KNOW THIS WILL BE DEEMED AS REALLY NEGATIVE BUT BY NOT SIGNING A STRIKER WE WILL NOT BE PART OF THE PLAY-OFFS (LIKE THE CUP) AND HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO SHOW FROM THE SEASON. CALL ME OLD FASHIONED BUT SUCCESS BREEDS SUCCESS AND FAILURE TO EVEN CONSIDER STRIKERS LIKE BILLY SHARP (DON'T FIT OUR STYLE OF PLAY) WILL RESULT IN ZILCH, NOWT, NOFFING THIS SEASON.
