No sweat. Given the context of word usage and nationality, I just found it amusing that all the other punctuations and capitals were in place. It doesn't take much to amuse a simple soul like me.
AP has been around this for 10 years. He's never come out and told a lie. There's nothing to be gained from it. He knows that. Nick Barmby has no reason to lie either.
I'm not sure what to make of this news but I fully trust that Nick knows what he's doing and I quite like the way he isn't trying to disturb the confidence! Hopefully Josh King will be the clinical finisher/playmaker that we need at the minute.
Barmby wouldn't have to agree with anything about our squad being good enough. At some point the chances are he will be looking for another job, it could be the end of next season if we have a poor one. He doesn't want to be on record saying he's happy with the squad and doesn't think we need to add anybody unless he believes it. We might get lucky with injuries and suspensions, but if our season falls apart because of the 2d nature of our squad it makes him look like an idiot for not forseeing it, and that lack of awareness would influence people considering interviewing him. You might get benefit of the doubt for the learning curve, but you'll also get people saying it was so obvious he should have seen it anyway. Without disagreeing with the senior management, or even saying players aren't good enough he could quite easily say that he thinks we need to add players, but it's difficult to find the right players because there aren't many that fit the bill, and when you do find them their clubs either won't let them go or are asking silly prices because they know how rare they are. We'll look again in the summer when we know what division we're in. Either we'll be looking for better players, or we can look to take players from relegated clubs cutting costs or promoted clubs who are signing better replacements for very good players. (ie West Ham who with possible signings today have about 8 strikers with only a couple PL quality)
I'm happy to respect it, but if Donny score in the 2nd minute tonight and we go on to lose 1-0 with absolutely no answer to their reasonable defending, and the chances we get wasted, it'll leave an even more bitter taste than usual knowing that nothing is being done about it.
The loan window opens in a week and a bit. There's no need to panic. I'm ****ing sick of reading people slagging off the team that are sitting 6th in the league. They've come this far, have a bit of faith.
If NB has decided he isnt going to splash any cash, thats fine with me. I would have liked a striker but if ones not forthcoming then I back what we already have. As regarsds anyone who calls Citys top management liars, then grow up. Thery told us no one would be sold and up to this time no one has been. Money was made available and these people must have short memories because we did make an offer for a player (Hammill I believe) and that was substantial, so what the hell do you people want. F..k the musroom effect and all the rest of the bo..ocks, get real, and support your team and its management.
Basically this means we have no intention of pushing for promotion. How can they (NB /AP) be happy with a squad of players who cannot score enough goals? IMO we have been misled yet again simply so we continue 'investing' our hard earned cash on a season ticket. Pathetic
Wasn't the deadline for direct debit season ticket purchases in November? And the normal sales haven't opened yet. Having a lie to boost sales after one set of fans has already signed up, and that would be found out before the other set can sign up would be a pretty stupid marketing strategy to adopt.
Oh dear oh dear, another 'rose couloured glassess' supporter. We have had this situation before. It's your opinion of course but do you really believe that our current squad is good enough or has enough passion to get us promoted? When you compare it with the squad that did get us up, if you know anything about football, you will agree we are miles away!
While I agree that the the current squad aren't scoring goals, I do believe that this squad is much stronger than the one we got promoted with last time. I think NB is putting his faith in Matty Fryatt, which I can only hope will pay off. I would have felt more assured of promotion had we signed a real goalscoring threat today, but it was not to be. That doesn't mean we won't get promoted, as others have said, the squad we've had have got us into the top 6 (could go fourth if results go our way) so there's no reason they can't continue to carry on the same way. If we are in the same position in two weeks time, then maybe they will dip into the loan market but NB isn't going to sign players for the sake of it. I'd wager the reason we haven't made bold moves is because we can't afford it; yes we have millionaire owners, but I believe they've had to invest more than they thought (not breaking news) and have therefore been stringent in the transfer market. And we haven't been misled about anything, everything has been laid out plain and simple. I'm not quite sure what you want from HCAFC, they are pushing for promotion, we aren't in the play off places by accident.
