Grayson should have walked before he was pushed. If he had half a brain, Grayson would have known his days were numbered. A poor team on the field for months, flaking the odd win, and no resources to turn it around. He should have stood up to Bates in last couple of weeks. I worry for his managerial future as most clubs will look at his record with Leeds rather than the resources he had. While his early years with us were good, this season has been nothing short of a disaster. Little or no activity in transfer windows, off field shenanigans and the bungled O'Brien saga. I wish him well for the future but would have loved him to have told Bates where to stick his job. After Howson was sold, would have been the perfect opportunity
It's not about win percentages though. It's about whether we're moving forward and under Grayson we weren't.
As I don;t live in Leeds, but I hear that Bates spending money on the ground more than the team. Is that true? What actually has he done to the ground. I personally prefer a team to play in a **** hall but strong enough to progress.
You can really only compare the other managers on how they did in the old 2nd Division, as only Grayson and macallister have managed us in the third tier.
Had he resigned he would have lost his job and means to support his family through no fault of his own. Would you quit your job just because you have a **** boss? He did a decent job with very few resources and had no need to resign.
He's extended the East Stand which has cost 1m. Part of a 70m+ project which will include a hotel, shopping mall and nightclub.
Not sure how you can compare a promotion and winning equivalent of premier league in three seasons and setting up the youth academy to winning promotion out of third tier in football
Of course mate, but it's impossible to say Grayson has a poor record, and Henry Winter, who people within the game trust, said Larry is still very highly thought of by others in football.
If grayson wasnt Leeds through and through he may have walked. Also like JWRF said he has a family to think of. Sounds like last night he complained for the 1st time about lack of funds and then got the boot
I think grayson will have no issues finding another job. Leicester will be looking for a new manager soon, Pearson has been there a few months now, surely time for a change there But it was time for grayson to be moved on, may seem harsh but if leeds united want to move on as a football club then these decisions are vital
For ****s sake will everyone shut up saying that "grayson had to go if we wanted to move forward"? Every person who says that is distracting everyone from the important matter. No Grayson wasn't good enough to manage us, I agree, but it's completely irrelevant. Put it to the side, stop arguing that it was the right thing to do to sack him. Every person who says that sacking him was the right thing to do is giving that ****cunt Bates more ammunition to use against us and more reason for him to stick around and ruin our club further. Forget how good or bad Grayson was as a manager, it's irrelevant. Him being gone is not going to improve progress because with Bates in charge we won't get anyone who can do anything worthy of note. I'm sick of hearing it. Bates needs to go, then we can worry about what else needs to be changed.
