Josh, you've said before that you dislike Bates. I think you're being deliberately controversial. Again.
**** contract negotiations, selling/losing best players, massive hotel debt which will rack up, blaming of fans and constant buck-passing, unfairest ticket prices in the world, failure to rebuy ER and TA, failure to get investors, failure to support managers with money, constant pissing away of club funds into useless ****. WAKE UP FFS.
Because we are not going into debt and he is rebuilding a fantastic club. Just because i have no issue with him being at the helm does not mean i cant agree with things he says and does and disagree with things he says and does. For example, I agree with the decision to sack simon grayson, I disgaree with the prices he charges to watch leeds united. Its not all black and white, you dont either agree with everything or disagree with everything. I actually think alot of his theories on the way football should be run are great
Bates is not rebuilding a fantastic club. He is slowly dismantling a fantastic club brick by brick. A few corporate boxes, a lick of paint and a hotel that will never operate at a profit does not constitute rebuilding anything. I'm sure, like everywhere else, Leeds has its quota of hotels, why one is needed at Elland Road, miles from the city centre, is beyond me.
His theories are sound, but he's not applying them. He's putting his own agenda before the good of the club. If you think he's doing anything other than using Leeds to feed his own obsessions then you're a fool. He spouts this crap about how a club should be run for the purpose of reeling in people like you who agree. Because then you don't question it when he uses that excuse for why he's putting no money into the team, and instead putting it into non-footballing investments such as developments of a stadium that, I shouldn't have to remind you for the 1000th time, we still do not own. How is developing a stadium we don't own for the good of the club? It's not. We're paying extortionate rates to the company that own the ground, which just so happens to have anonymity in its structure so we don't know who owns the company. Bates obviously owns the company that owns the ground, and is using it to syphon off a stupid amount of money into his own bank account and then blame it on people that don't even exist.
