we were controlling the game at 0-0 with both players on the pitch... having a man down in these comditions wasnt as bad as normall because you cant be playing the long ball stretching the defence so you still had a chance of winning...

Pullis is a genius in disguising an awful team that Stoke are, by blaming a 22 yr old opposition player, and all you idiots use that as your excuse for losing

I noticed at half time the ground staff cleared the snow out of the Stoke penalty box but not the SAFC end.......Is that not cheating?

Pulls is just using Manure managers tactics, blame the opposition in some way to disguise the teams and his failings.
Yes Huth was a yellow, it was a foul on a lad who is just back from 18 months ligament problems, and would always be wary after having to hurdle Huths reckless challenge. Pulis should have warned you players about the ref, he has given more reds than anyone else, Huth has a rep for being dirty and he gave the ' hanging judge' a chance.

Also Fuller did IMHO a worse challenge than Huth.

Other stoke fans should read this. There is definite contact. Pulis states he never touched him. Accused him of diving. Watch the replay MackesRule as put on. Shows obvious contact which means he did not dive. We had full control of the game anyhow and had fuller been sent off early in the second half would that not say we would've been playing 10 men anyhow? And probably would've won? Our keepers saves were all simple catches I.e he was never tested and could've chucked his cap on the shots on target

    Contact? Yes. Just about.
Was it stupid by Huth? Yes
Did Huth try and get out of the way? Yes
Did Meyler need to roll around the floor? No.
Have I seen some people challenge Stoke players like that and Stoke players not make a meal of it? Yes, plenty of times.
Will we get it rescinded? Not a chance. The FA will talk about intent.
Do I agree with Sunderland fans that Pulis blames anyone but himself for his own ****e tactics? Yes. And plenty of Stoke fans would say this as well.
Are most Stoke fans bored by our terrible style we've played in the last few months? Yes.

Meyler had clearly hurt his knee. The physio came on and did what is called a posterior draw test, to test the strength of his ACL.

    Well,?
This is my first comment since the game and unlike many who have made comments I "was there yesterday"
As a STOKE fan all I want to say is this.
HUTH was an ABSOLUTE ******* TOOL to go in like that. Given the conditions which IMHO we're a total FARCE.
Which makes HUTH'S attempt look more like attempted MURDER. I did watch MOTD and until then, like many could not make an accurate comment on this.
Having seen it on MOTD last night, nothing has changed my mind.

As for Tony Pulis... many Stoke fans know I don't likc his tacticc's his attitude, his SMUG comments towards his OWN fans is bad enough. I think? I heard him call Meyler a CHEAT. IF you did Tony Pulis... you sir are a F****** retard of the highest order. That is coming from a STOKE fan who is totally embarrased by HOW one man can bring so much HATERED onto ONE club.

Some of the comments I have read on here "make me sick this morning" MANY FANS seem to hate us, I don't think we are all THUGS ect but the SOONER Tony Pulis is NOT the manager of MY club the BETTER.

My own oppinion WELL done to Sunderland well taken goal by McClean but I WISH the game had not started in fairness you travelled a long way to see the game. I hope you all returned home safley yesterday. Took me an hour and a half to travel under 3 miles home.

It looked to me that BOTH set's of player's we're worried about ANY kind of tackle until HUTH'S stupid IMHO lunge. Red or not I give a flying monkey's. YOU DON'T do that Robert Huth. Pulis thinks someone Cheated? I hope the F.A. throw the book at you TONY. I am sick and tired of defending.. poor tactics, poor performances, ref's decisions, pen's given, not given. YOU a missing the F****** obvious T.P. The team's you INSIST and must obviously THINK are good enough. Well, they are NOT.

The game was a farce imho, yup HUTH shafted us by then, Like me the rest of the team looked like they didn't want to be out there. The SOONER Tony Pulis is NOT there anymore. The sooner some rival fans might not "tar us all with the same brush". We LOVED our club, I still DO more than Tony Pulis ever will.

To call David Meyler a Cheat is beyond belief. I'm just sorry PULIS actually said ANYTHING at all.

Maybe, this will get shot down by some Stoke fans well frankly right now. I really don't give a flying monkeys.
I do care that " so many fans HATE us, OUR team and of course Tony Pulis.

Too all the STOKE FANS on here who know me, I'll tell it how I see it always have otherwise what's the point. I will NO LONGER defend a guy I consider has now
LOST the fans, the player's and is hated by so many. ARE they all wrong? Or are we as Stoke fans too stupid to notice? BEFORE defending Huth or Pulis..
Listen to what Tony actually said, IMHO he is wrong and I think? Huth gave the ref who had a mare anyway NO choice. Given the conditions which, IMO we're too dangerous but I'm not the ref, I just froze my nick nacks off like everyone else. Great goal otherwise a poor game but, no wonder and WHY didn't they use a feckin
PINK or RED ball I got eye ache trying to keep track of it.

    Too anyone who thinks otherwise...

Hard to disagree with that Potts. I'm still not yet in the Pulis Out Camp although my patience is waning. I'm going to wait until the end of the season. I don't think it matters anyway. Coates loves having a puppet like Pulis who will kiss his arse all the bloody while, his ego loves it. I'd like to think Coates has noticed all the money that has been wasted for worse football, not the better football which Pulis promised, but I doubt it somehow.

    Pottermouth.

Single handedly you have brought complete dignity to your club and your fans. Well done lad.

Bruce fell foul of the simple fact he had a canny plan A but no plan B. When it all started to fall apart, so did Bruce. If ended up using any old pile of ****e excuse to hide the fact he was batting well above his capability.

Pullis did nothing to improve your clubs image by slagging an honest young lad making his comeback from a career threatening major injury to both his cruciates. He had to jump just to avoid Huths wreckless lunge (in totally the wrong conditions), fell badly on his knee and lay quite still tbh. We all thought he was done for.

Anyway, good luck v Valencia and for the rest of the campaign. You personally are a credit to your club mate.

I've seen a few posts from Pottermouth & Sgt Potters whilst browsing the boards over the course of time, and they are 2 very good posters, the kind we al used to like a bit of craic with on BBC (when the clubs mixed properly).

    Good lads <ok>

Post of the season by Pottermouth, you and your fans deserve so much better than Pulis, he used the Huth sending off as a smokescreen to hide his own tactical shortcomings.

Sadly it's something he has a habit of doing lately! He used to quite often hold his hands up and admit he got it wrong on the day, but he seems to be doing that less and less these days. He is a frustrating manager.

We showed at the end of last season and against Man United at home this season, that we do have the players to play a better brand of football than we are playing. There is no question about that. Jermaine Pennant, Matthew Etherington, Glenn Whelan, Marc Wilson, Wilson Palacios, Peter Crouch, Jon Walters. All fine footballers with the ball at feet, as they have all shown when allowed to.

This is the early signs of a man who knows he's run out of ideas mate.

With Etherington & Pennant down the wings, Palacios holding, and Crouch & Walters (who I really rate, despite his dip in form), then it's clear to me that sharp breaks down the wings and crosses are the way, IMO.

Add Huth & Shawcross, potentially one of the most solid CB pairings in the league, and there is simply no need for you not to pay a bit more football, that's a lot of talent, and i've only named a few!

Dare I say, the MON would have been perfect for your personnel? Looks to me like all you need is a decent CM with a touch and a bit of vision, and a couple of good , solid wing backs, to be a very decent side indeed.

We will never know what was going through Meyler's mind as he hurdled Huth's challenge, he could have thinking 'O No not again' as he felt his knee, he has been out for 18 mos, or he could have been thinking lying there on the frozen ground that bas*** has tried to do my dodgy knee. Once he had hit the ground, reconstructed knee first he rolled to a stop and did not move or yell for cards etc, other Sunderland players knowing what the lad has gone through were furious at Huth's challange and when you have a hanging judge as a ref (most reds in EPL) his tackle was stupid. Pulis should have warned his team about the ref I am sure MoN would have warned our lot.

What is happening to you is something I would fear if we ever get into the Euros, in that you need a bigger squad to cope with the extra games but the money from the games does not pay for the bigger squad, Frankly I think it has to be Champions League or nothing.

Yes it would seem to me that Pulis whinging on about the Mayler was because he could not have a go at the ref cos' that would get him in trouble, so have a go at a Sunderland player instead. Probably the match should have been postponed agreed. But even then diversionary tactics for the run of poor form you are in will probably not help you in the longer run. Good luck in the Euros and I hope you get some form back, but leave young lads coming back from injury alone, it is the mote in your own eye that needs sorting.
