9 points from the next 4 games would put us in good shape, after that we would only have to average a point a game from our remaining games of the season and it should be enough to keep us up
Then i'd add another 3 points as i'm sure we'd be able to produce 1 shock out of those 6 or 7 games i said we'd lose, that gives us 17 and i was being fairly pessimistic

Harsh but fair. I personally think Blackburn (L) Fulham (D) Everton (D) Bolton (W) Liverpool (D) Sunderland (L) Arsenal (L) United (L) Swansea (W) WBA (W) Tottenham (L) Chelsea (L) Stoke (D) Man City (L) So around 13 points which would leave QPR on 34, I still think it may well be enough to stay up this year
For what it's worth I think we'll get at least seven points from the next four games. Then I don't think we'll get any from the next four and then another seven from the remaining games, leaving us on 35 which will be right on the border imo. It's impossible to call though. I honestly think if it clicks with this group of players we can pull off some shocks but, like for half an hour yesterday, it can all fall apart too.
No point in tempting providence with expectations... rarely works out the way it should. From a fan's point of view, expect nothing and let the team concentrate on staying outside the bottom three. Works better that way and less worrying! We got some guys who can do the bizz but need some time to get their act together. We'll get there (I hope!).
I hope you're right. If I leave Ewood Park having seen a home win it'll be the first time this season I think we're more likely to go down than not.
Even then it'll still be down to what other teams do. Question is, have we bought suffient quality that Hughes can forge into a winning unit? He won't get far if he persists with Hulse. What happens if Diakite turns out to be rubbish? Gotta get Traore out on the wing and HH and Zam in the box.
I've just been through our remaining fixtures and sadly i reckon we're on for around another 13 points...not sure what you think. We need a few very lucky results i think
as long as the teams below us dont get their act together we will be fine.. said all along 17th would be a good finish this year
Blackburn really is a massive game now, they are a better team than their position and if Samba returns our job becomes more difficult. I'll be happy with a draw and a win would be possibly a season-defining moment...
totally agree, i remember debating with someone earlier this season about the same point. I few people posted that they would be disgusted if we only achieved 17th this season.....wonder how they feel right now !!
Got no idea! Can't see HH playing with Zamora much, they are too alike. Just read somewhere MH reckons Adel can play off Zamora. Looks the best bet to me as it will enable us to play a defensively stronger midfield, which after our collapse both against Villa and Wolves, and the whole Chelsea game, is a must.
What the team need to do is to: not lose points No more stupid sending offs, No more giving away 2-0 leads, No more silly mistakes. If we go down it won't be because we have been out played/out classed, it will be because of 'discipline', poor tactics and players that think they are bigger than the club. How ridiculous can someone be by taunghting the authorities into putting them into prison? Forget about quoting 'Nietzsche' and 'Darwin' he wants to start with 'Andy Paddy' because most of the stuff he quotes is in the wrong context. And yes I am talking about Mr Barton. Sometimes I think that he just craves attention. He seems more interested in offfield antics then doing his job on it. What he needs to do is stop playing around on twitter and get down to that training field and learn to pass the ball to one of his own players. He should take a leaf out of Jonny Wilkinson book, who stayed at the training ground until he perfected his kick, and he went on to win us the World Cup. True QPR players are the likes of 'Furs' and Ainsworth who conducted themselves in a professional way. If we go down this season it because as a club we haven’t had the professionalism it deserves.
3 days later, people now need to start calming down and seeing the light. This defeat was a blow but a massive blow a relegation decider NO. We still have our own fate in our own hands and with the team we have now, I don't see us going down. Some of the games I saw as loses now look like close calls. The 40 pts guideline is not a rule and when I look at the league can I see 3 teams worse than us..damn yes. Our aim was 17th and we are 16th, it's closer than we would like but still one target, JUST.
I don't think we'll need another 20 points to stay up. As Brixton says, it often doesn't work out the way you expect it to. A home "banker" turns on a red card and a difficult away game becomes a win (Stoke). We need to finish 2nd from top of our league of 5 at the worst and I think we can do that. 15 more points could well be enough. 4 wins and 3 draws. Definitely achievable!!
