As we are all aware the team is having a dip in form, there have been a number of factors for this such as injuries, poor decisions and sometimes just a generally bad performance. But, for me the main reason is us the fans. I have never been so disappointed with the supporters, we should be enjoying every minute of this league and with the current position we are in. But for some fans their expectations are just plain ridiculous, I go to games now were fans are moaning and complaining throughout, booing at half-time and so on.

Last year we managed to go almost the whole year unbeaten at home, sadly against Bristol City right at the end of December we lost. What did the players get for such a fantastic year where most fans who went were treated to win after win and goal after goal, a chorus of boos! Horrendous behaviour, this is a team who worked bloody hard to get where they are for the sake of the supporters, we pay good money to watch them and every game it was worth it. Now we are slightly struggling, the supporters think its the end of the world. The constant picking of individual players has got to stop, shout at the wall when you get home and let it out; but undermining players before they kick a ball is awful. Looking at twitter before the Birmingham game when Connolly was announced in the starting line-up it was as though Ali Dia had been picked for Saints again.

I know it can be frustrating and sometimes disappointing but this really is the time to back the team, the players will be very upset over some of the results but they know themselves what they have to do to put it right. All I can do is just ask some of the fans to stop with the negative attitude and make any situation a positive one. Back the boys all the way and hopefully come May we will be celebrating something special.

Lets be loud and proud against Burnley!!
    COYR!!

Thing is Saints form and negativatly infront of goal (i.e never having a crack outside the pen area). Has passed on to the fans. I would never moan at a game, but the atomsphere is slowly getting worse and worse. It will continue until we put a good form together.

That is right, it's the players fault that the fans are acting like spoilt little **** faces! :emoticon-0105-wink:

I know the weather conditions were extremely cold but Claridge had great pleasure in saying how dead it was around the ground.

Is this due to form or the competition we were competing in?

    Excellent original post <ok>

I was going to create an article about this myself but you've done it for me...

The players are scared stiff to make a mistake because of the fans! I don't know how people can get so wound up over ONE misplaced pass or a shot that goes over the bar.

I'd rather have 15,000 real Saints fans come every week that actually support the team than these idiots who aren't happy unless they're moaning!

There's still time to turn it around but if they don't stop slating the team our season really will fall to pieces...

You think no team has ever had it? I remember everyone saying Wolves had/were blowing it, they found form again and won the title.

    We're still in it.

End of the day fans PAY to see the players perform. We do not earn 7k and up a week which a footballer does. We PAY towards their wages so have a right to get annoyed when they pay ****. Atm it's liking PAYing to see a **** movie over and over again.

Do you see something that keeps getting repeated???

I'm not saying moaning at players is right. I don't moan at a game but others do, they have PAYed so itis up to them.

We will turn it around when Nigel starts learning from what he sees in front of him and his own mistakes. Please don't tell me what we are doing is rght as the corollary of that is all the other teams have got it wrong and yet they keep beating us.

This 'dip' in form has been going on for 3 months.

We have stayed on top through luck and other results going out way.

But now we have Cardiff and Burmingham on incredible runs.

We really need to buck up our ideas and soon!

I know what you are saying Beef and people do have the right to do whatever they like but it's not helpful.

On the movie metaphor - I wouldn't PAY to see a **** movie over and over again but if I did I also wouldn't boo the Odeon Cinema and it's staff, who after all we pay the wages of. (or does that not count because they don't earn more than we can ever dream of)

If I did however they would probably ask why I keep PAYing to come and see this crap movie all the time because they certainly don't force me to.

For me our dip in form has been due to major players injured or Red carded.
Fonte, Lambo & Lallana out and our spine has gone.
Too many changes too often. Forced changes.

Look at tonight's team in reality made up of too many players returning from injury.
Richardson, Chappers, Fonte, De Ridder, Barnie & Guly all recently sidelined with injuries.
Plus Guly & Lee starting up front never played together. Didn't gel like they should.
I know it will take time but keep the spine there and build around it.
EG : Start Lambo & Barnie & when winning bring on Lee/Guly.

Things will gel again but only if we are playing players that gel & work together.
partnerships need to be established & can see the Lambo Sharp partnership being an
    exciting one.
Always gutted to lose in the FA cup such an exciting prospect.

I wish our fans were more like Leeds. When they were losing 5-0 to Blackpool they were all signing their hearts out. I was sat in the Itchen North today and Millwall outsung us so badly even though there were only 200 of them. As for booing and slating the manager - Give me a break.
