After Redknapp being cleared they should make sure he's incharge before the euro as he can't lose! lol its like a magic act :~)
Too good an opportunity to appoint Redknapp. They'll probably do it ASAP and Spurs will feel like they've been mugged.
Got more respect for FC stepping down, although I've not enjoyed his time in charge, he has had to put up with some frankly disgraceful situations. Mainly involving JT.

Gotta say this news has shocked me, never thought he would step down, i actually have more respect for him now than i ever did. so the pearce/southgate era begins
And what happens if Pearce does unusually well as caretaker, like he gets to the Final. Then what..? They'll keep him on, that's what, because the FA will not be able to find a way to not keep him. And then Redknapp won't get his dream job, and England won't get the manager they want. This has been handled just about as amateurishly as it's possible to do.
capello got a lot of bad press, but i've always liked him, quality manager. It won't make a difference who becomes the next manager as we'll still do ****. Capello made the best of an average bunch.
In the qualifying stages, Capello has done an excellent job but England disappointed in the World Cup. Part of me admires Capello standing by his man John Terry and thinks that his stance would normally be admirable. However, I think that Terry has set a poor example as England captain and his tenure has always been surrounded by controversy. The impression you get is that he is not a particularly nice person. Had it been another England player, I think that I would have been totally behind Capello whose loyalty to his team is, in my opinion, something that I would look up to. In the normal circumstances, I feel that you are innocent until proven guilty. Yet the more you read about the situation, the more convincing is the position taken by Anton Ferdinand. I do not want my national team captained by a racist and I support the FA's decision to remove the captaincy from John Terry who must be pretty convinced of his guilt to have taken the action. Capello's position became untenable as soon as he voiced his support for his captain. I would also take the racism issue much further. Liverpool's decision to support Luis Suarez was an absolute disgrace and sends out a terrible message to the world that they are a club which is willing to condone racism. Previously, this is the same club who was one of the last English clubs to field a black player with John Barnes making his debut more that 10 years after practically every other club had black players. Suarez' suspension was wholly deserved and the decision of the club to sport t-shirts supporting their striker should have led to further sanctions such as a points deduction. A financial penalty would not have been appropriate in this circumstance. For many years clubs have boasted about "kicking racism out of football" yet the incidents with Suarez and Terry suggest that many clubs are only willing to pay lip service to this is the penalties levied against them jeopardise the club. The FA must be seen to be consistant in these matters and I fully support the implimentation of whatever sanctions are necessary if this ensures that racsims has no part in English football.
Superb news. FC was a good manager for us in the qualifying stages like so many other managers have done prior to his appointment,but managing a whole nation during 4 weeks in the summer,whether it be the euro's or world cup it's another ball game. His english was poor,but I salute him for giving it a go but he was still some way off from speaking english fluently.
Daniel Levy says Redknapp can leave for the England job - if he can write his own resignation letter.
