On a more important note, why is General Chat so quiet today (apart from that damn Creationism thread)?
Neil Lennon is on YouTube spitting on a Rangers scarf and shouting Orange Bastards at the Rangers bench, does that make him a bigot? I couldn't give a ****. If you sang the Plantation is over, why don't you go home, does that make you a bigot? Not in my opinion, though some would construe it as being so in this pathetic Old Firm point scoring excercise. It's ****ing pathetic, it was sang as a football WUM, it only became a problem after you got beat at the Piggery. It's gay as ****, the nation is turning into a land of permanently offended whiny woman, looking at and over-analysing every single thing until they find something to get offended about. Do you Timothy community believe that Rangers fans, as a group, want the Irish Catholic community to be deported? Answer the ****ing question
Both clubs would be best served knocking any kind of sectarian behaviour on the head. Bain has made a tit of himself by claiming a conspiracy against Rangers. He should have held his hands up and used it as a opportunity to condemn the fans that chant these songs that are not only offensive to 'timothy', but the multitude of catholic countries in Europe. To be honest I wish the SFA would hand out point deductions to any club in Scotland partaking in sectarian psih. I dream of the day when we're all bad mouthing each other about football and not religion or nationality.
Zilla, we've had all this ****e before. Where do you stop deducting points, it seems to me that the offended won't stop until we are all sitting in stadiums together holding hands and shouting "tally-ho old bean" When the Embras come to Glasgow and sing that we only have one shoe, and eat rats as a treat, does that get a point deduction? Or when our wooly friends from the North come down, and we suggest that they shag sheep, does that merit a deduction? Point deductions will never happen, yes I long for the day when Rangers fans sing songs about the team instead of the pathetic ****e about something that 95% of those singing about it, don't have a ****ing clue what they are singing about. But dunderheids will be dunderheids. Rangers should come out and tell supporters group that from the start of next season, they will not accept away tickets if there is sectarian singing at away grounds. Did you see the pricks on YouTube singing about Tommy Burns? I know the fat **** in the 2nd clip. And he's a total bampot, I phoned him a couple of weeks ago, and he didn't give a ****, that he was getting death threats and was about to lose his job through his misconduct, that's how ****ing thick these ****s are. Noticed that no one has answered my earlier question.
Didn't hear the famine song from the Hobos last night. I did hear a rousing rendition of 'We are the People' though. I thought it was quite funny.
It was funny when Falkirk used to come to Ibrox and sing, "We are the Steeple" please log in to view this image
Don't talk ****e Rebelbhone, keep your bitter personal experience of NI out of this. Scotland has many mixed marriages/houses etc.
I don't know what the "Timothy community" is so I can only answer the question on my own behalf. Do I believe that Gers fans singing the famine song are indulging in wummery or sarcasm? No I don't because that would imply they had a sense of humour of a modicum of intelligence. If someone is singing a racist song then the chances are that it is because he is a racist bigot.
That wasn't the question Dev, once again, you're showing your lack of understanding of the basic English language. Do you Dev, believe that Rangers fans want or wish that all Catholics of Irish stock, should be rounded up and deported? I'll type that again, just so you understand what I am asking. Do you Dev, believe that Rangers fans want or wish that all Catholics of Irish stock, should be rounded up and deported? Also, you do know what the Timothy Community is, or are you WUMMING again?
In that we must agree to disagree Sir. I do think if points were deducted from any club found singing sectarian songs then there would be a marked improvement at games. I did see the you-tube clip you mentioned and I fully agree there will always be arseholes who spout this kind of ****e. But, by forcing the rest of the fans who are at the games to take wee fanny's to task for there ****e we could well stamp it out at games. I've pulled people up at games for spouting ****e, as have other people around me. It does happen. If you shame them enough they do shut the **** up. Most of the time it's some teenagers who are too full of the drink or who get too involved in the old history of our clubs. Some of them seem to think the more bitter they are, the more they are proving that they are a great supporter. It's our responsibility as fans, fathers, brothers and friends to educate our society and points deductions could well be the kick in the baws for some folk to actually step up and tell some folk to shut the **** up. To be honest I'm sick of going over the same old ground and welcome any club in Scotland getting ****ed for their song choices if they are offensive. It's coming to a head because of the society we live in these days. Some think it's overly PC, but personally I'd rather concentrate on the football and who's got the fattest fans(Rangers).
I don't have any bitter experiences thanks. You sing a song you don't mean then? is that it? Its irony. You welcome the Irish community with open arms is that it?
When i'm wumming you'll know it. In answer to your question. The "people" singing the Famine song are asking/suggesting people of Irish stock go back to Ireland. Whether or not they actually mean it literally is another matter, but the famine song has been deemed to be Racist in a court of law - and a subsequent appeal - so they are indulging in Racism in the eyes of the Law, they are therefore guilty of Racism and have been since 2008 at least.
No Zilla, the points deductions would need to be because songs were offensive, not just sectarian songs. It will never happen though, ever. Titles are decided by what happens on the park, not the stands. Can you imagine it, last day of the season, and you need to win to get the title, but you're rival fans have bought 100 tickets and infiltrated the ground and start singing sectarian songs to get points deducted.
I often wonder where they would have been If we hadn't have taken them in Fed them and washed them Thousands in Glasgow alone From Ireland they came Brought us nothing but trouble and shame Well the famine is over Why don't they go home? Now Athenry Mike was a thief And Large John he was fully briefed And that wee traitor from Castlemilk Turned his back on his own They've all their Papists in Rome They have U2 and Bono Well the famine is over Why don't they go home? INSTRUMENTAL Now they raped and fondled their kids That's what those perverts from the darkside did And they swept it under the carpet and Large John he hid Their evils seeds have been sown Cause they're not of our own Well the famine is over Why don't you go home? Now Timmy don't take it from me Cause if you know your history You've persecuted thousands of people In Ireland alone You turned on the lights Fuelled U boats by night That's how you repay us It's time to go home.
Yes, the fans sing a song that they don't mean, and I bet a sizeable proportion of those fans went home that night to a Catholic mother/wife/kids. Regarding your Irish question, yes we do, Sam English, Jimmy Nicholl, Kyle Lafferty and Steve Davis along with Alan Kernaghan and young Alan Smith have all been welcomed with open arms. We are the peoples club mind
