I'll ask again (although I fear I am wasting my time) where exactly is this "Conflict of interest"?

DLA Piper are Celtic's main Legal firm, they do most of our work.

I think what Rocket and others want is for every legal firm in Scotland to be barred from the investigation, if there are no legal firms who can do the job then any investigation should just be dropped.

    Everyone wins. <ok>

The SPL should appoint someone else I completely agree.

If Harper MacLeod were Rangers lawyers then it would be a "conflict of interest" to have been given the task of investigating their own clients.

If Harper MacLeod worked for any of the other 11 SPL teams would that be in a conflict of interest or is it onlt the case when it's a firm who did some work for Celtic?

Even if Harper MacLeod were owned or run by Celtic FC it would not be a conflict of interest.

    Rule B1.7: Conflict of Interest
1.7.1 You must not act for two or more clients in matters where there is a conflict of interest between the clients or for any client where there is a conflict between the interest of the client and your interest or that of your practice unit. (a sole practitioner, firm of regulated persons, incorporated practice, multi-national practice or licensed provider)

1.7.2 Even where there is only a potential conflict of interest you must exercise caution. Where the potential for conflict is significant, you must not act for both parties without the full knowledge and express consent of the clients.

That says it all, man. Big wow if a CEO is a Celtic fan <laugh>

    Quoted from elsewhere.

Honestly, your reason for citing a "conflict of interest" is a Tim in the boardroom and a relative of Lawwell doing work experience there.

...and you DON'T think this sounds mental??!!!!????

    Who are Rangers' current Lawyers?

Have they said it's a conflict of interest? Have Rangers' lawyers made any statements at all?

That's what happens when you spend a couple of years in the e-Gluag that is Follow Follow/RangersMedia.

When you have spent a lot of time listening to absolute madness it's only a matter of time before it seems perfectly reasonable.

    Message boys.... <ok>

But now that we've finally arrived at what Lawwell and Celtic want, what they really really want, they've rolled out the heavy artillery.

McKenzie is widely regarded as the best in the business and no one knows that better than Lawwell himself.

And IF that ****e from Murray yesterday's the best we have to offer then we should just hand back the titles right now because McKenzie will tear us limb from limb.

So it was Lawell who appointed Harper Macleod?

He's pulling the strings and all the other guys on the SPL comittee are just following orders?

    <laugh>

Honest to God, listen to yourself.

Quite simply, the SPL should have appointed a firm that had no connections to anybody in the game, then there wouldn't be anything for people to get annoyed about. Surely they must have known that this would happen by appointing Harper MacLeod?

Of course Rangers have lawyers, and i'm pretty sure if this was a Confict of Interest then they would be on the case quicker than you could say "Paranoia".

It is not and they will laugh any such notion out of their offices.

Lawwell is currently the most powerful man in Scottish football and has a few lackies in guys like Petrie, Thompson and his former colleague at Coors.

And it looks as though he's now got Doncaster in his hip pocket as well.
