I use the term 'Muppet' because it stops me saying other things that might be offensive. I actually posted before that saying he would go to jail and that he won't look so big in jail. I am sorry the word 'muppet' offends you or my use of the word 'vaseline' but i think both are tame compared to what i have read on here in recent weeks yet i don't see you picking up on others? If you want to be some sort of 'PC Policeman', then be a mod. <ok>

What were the stewards doing while this happened? What were the police doing when this happened?

This is a local derby where there's no love lost and usually the police would be in their faces so what has gone wrong? I've just been down by Norwood Junction Station this morning and you can't move for Police, meat wagons, dogs and police horses and Palace v Millwall doesn't kick-off till 1-00, so I think the police and stewards have failed miserably at Hillsborough...

Some of the stewards looked about 10 and there wasn't enough of them for 5000 Leeds. Where were the police? Always after the event and it really is ironic that we are talking about policing problems at Hillsborough again.

I don't think you can blame the police. Can you really expect there to be a wall of police spanning the width of the away end on the off chance Leeds score a goal and a few decide to go on the pitch?

Let's spare a thought for the victim. I thought Kirkland looked very upset and traumatised as you might expect after an assault. Respect Chris. The majority of football fans of all clubs wish you all the best. Don't let this guy in your head because then he gets what he wants.

I suspect it will be a life ban for this particular moron. Good riddance.

Ellers, I was merely using your original post as a segue to the comment that I wished to make on the subject. I apologise, as you appear to have taken this as a personal attack and have over-reacted, which I had never intended. I am not aware, however, that I had made any comment to the effect that I was offended by the use of either 'muppet' or 'vaseline'. In fact, I made no mention at all of the latter. I actually thought your original comment regarding vaseline rather amusing.

For the record, I commend your use of more 'tame' expressions. I have been particularly poor with my choice of language in posts on this site and am endeavouring to be more selective in my choice of terms.

If he hadnt been able to continue, the game would have been abandoned and Sheff W awarded a 3-0 win. docking points will be the only way to stop this. Same goes for fans trying to get games abandoned if they are losing, dock them more points than just the 3.

I'm afraid Warnock has proved himself last night to be Head of the most unenviable of in bred counts. How could he possibly say, even if he was thinking it that Kirkland went down too easy, I know for all his footballing faults our manager would never have said such a thing.
You are a true disgrace Mr.Warnock proving that the leopard never changes his spots and TF was right to get a pea brained vile spouting fool out of our club. Just Barton left, brought in by?

How exactly is a points deduction going to stop isolated incidents like that?

    Grow up FFS.

You grow up rather than sticking your head in the sand after Leeds yet again show themselves up. Clubs that require it will step up security at home. The rest of the fans will do a bit more than pat the offenders on the back as they clamber back into the crowd. The way he hit Kirkland on his blindside was cowardly and he wouldn't have done if there were a queue of fans waiting to give him a slap back which would be the case if these things ended with the club suffering.

    No-one saw it happen!

We were celebrating a goal! I don't know or know of a single Leeds fan who was there who saw it happen.

I would think the person getting a battering off fellow fans would be more than enough to stop this.

And he probably would have done if anyone had saw it. I doubt he'll be able to go to Elland Road again, and not just because he'll hopefully be locked up.

Hes already got 3 banning orders preventing him from going to any football grounds. Its pretty clear the punishment need to change. Its not just him, others must be buying tickets for him.

Jail time and a points deduction is whats needed.
