Zzzzzz. Sun reader are we? If you'd ever been to Manchester you'd know it is at least 3/4 red. United vs Liverpool is bigger anyway, by far the biggest rivalry in England. 2 of the biggest clubs in the world who hate each other with a passion. If you took away the sectarian issue, it'd be biggest game in Britain. BTW Huth, you didn't answer my question on another thread: Why do you and other Stoke fans hate Man United so much? We're not local to you, there are no historic links between our clubs or cities and we are in no way competitors on any level.
It goes way back to the 70's when football holiganism was rife. Stoke were always known to have a few game sorts and only big clubs like Leeds and Man United would be brave enough to come and have a pop at them. I clearly remember the back streets of the long gone terraced properties surrounding the Old Victoria ground being full of fighting fans and the old black "Maria" police vans everywhere trying to quell the fighting. Alos Staam last game of last season the Man U fans did themselves no favours amongst the Stoke fans by hitting scarfers and parents with children after the game because Chelsea won the title and the Stoke fans cheered every goal that Chelsea scored that day. A bloke lying on the floor with his 2 kids by his side crying as he was knocked out doesn't go down too well amongst most!
