"Always the victims" has been sung at Goodison & there's no way on Earth it was referencing Hillsborough as far as Everonians were concerned.

Post Liverpool fans applying that conotation to it, Evertonians stopped using it.

I have a friend who is a STH in the Stretford end & he told me yesterday that he could see the aeroplane gestures from there. So, one side painting this as the 'others issue' is wrong imo. Both sides have been guilty of this idiotic nonsense & yesterday was no exception by the sounds of it.

It's time a line was drawn & both clubs took some action in order to stamp it out. One merely claiming that they're innocent isn't the answer.

OK Liverpool fans, will any of you refute the chant's validity by accepting that A) Liverpool fans have done things wrong before, and B) that it is those people's responsibility to accept that, and C) it is not exclusively the fault of someone else that wrongdoing occurred?

I'm not talking about Hillsborough, for what it's worth. I was as disgusted as anyone by the Police revelations which totally vindicate Reds fans.

  6. What Dave said <ok>

For what's worth (and about the fourth time in this thread), I couldn't give a flying fig who did what first. Any actions in relation to a disaster or race is 100% unacceptable, end of! That includes Liverpool fans!

Liverpool supporters can never accept that they're fans are as bad as anyone when it comes to violence and vile chants.

As far as there concerned its all Man Utd. Liverpool fans condemned Man Utd fans for chanting on the Hillsbrough Memorial Day, when in fact Man Utd fans had respected the day until 2 Liverpool supporters ran past the away end doing aeroplane signs:biggrin:

  8. How many times do we have to put 'that includes Liverpool fans' <doh>

I've told you once already, this is not a Liverpool vs Man Utd thread, it is about human decency (cheers Dave). Stop trying to make it into a cyber-fight <doh>

As mentioned, this about doing what is right and non of this flies, for either side. THe big grin at the end leaves me to believe you are trying to score points, wrong subject to do so.

I put that at the end of all my posts, not trying to score points at all. It just winds me up when out fans are branded as scum by some on here, when some sections of Liverpools support is just as bad. I find it very hypocritical:biggrin:

Not sure what you're getting at here but A) if you meant Heysel, all the Liverpool fans caught on video were rounded up and tried, 14 of them were extradited to Belgium where they served prison sentences. There are also several accounts of Liverpool fans who saved lives that day. B) I think my answer at A) is covered here. C) I don't understand what you mean!

The majority of the Mancs who regularly post on this baord have repeatedly stated that they abhor such chants. I see none of our posters trying to defend such chants/actions. What I do see is people like King Shergar, Toblerone Boots and that idiot from Leeds, merely trying to stir the pot on an issue that does not really lend itself to such puerile actions.

  14. I think you should lighten up and realise that the 'scum' reference is aimed at the individuals that's perform these stupid acts and not the fans in general <ok>

So that's all it takes? Two scumbags to behave in a stupid way? And then you think it's perfectly acceptable to mock the deaths of 96 innocent people?

Don't you understand? It doesn't matter WHO started it, ANY PEOPLE who chant such abhorrent, disgusting filth should be banned for life from watching any spectator sports. Forget the words Liverpool, Manchester United, fan or supporter. People are mocking the deaths of other people, and for what?

People like you who attempt to justify any of it sicken me. You really should be ashamed.

Personally I think every decent person abhors these chants and wants them to stop. If you're at a football game, sing about your own team or have a lighthearted and witty pop at the opposition. There's no call for abuse, swearing or victimisation in any form. If any of the chants being discussed were sung in public the people singing them would be seen as social outcasts, so I don't think any of them can be accepted or condoned just because they are in a football stadium.

Tho' if you're looking for someone stirring the pot dave, I suggest you look at the original post. Comments like "Utd scum" and "****ing vermin" are hardly likely to create moderate responses from the people being referred to as such. Or, for that matter, from people who see this as yet another attempt by DDDDDD to take the moral high ground and stir the pot over an issue that, as you've quite rightly stated, does not lend itself to such puerile actions.

If you read back, you will see that I do not condone what our supporters were chanting, I was just pointing out that it was a 2 way thing.

I suggest you stop twisting what I have said, I do not agree with any vile chanting, and have said that any club who's supporters do it should be punished

Thing is Swarbs unless the people commenting on this thread are the ones who were chanting at he game yesterday they don't need to respond on their behalf.

If I saw a thread on the utd board calling Liverpool fans 'vermin' for doing the aeroplane thing I wouldn't be defending them, I'd be joining in with - maybe not name-calling, not my style - but certainly calling for them to be banned. As alreasy stated by several on here, it's about common decency not which club you support.
