    Leeds have 'terminated' Nunez' contract.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21247634

I bet that cost us a few quid seeing as he had about three years left. A pity in some ways as he looked (on paper) a good prospect.

No South Americans left soon. :(

On a brighter note Leeds have always seemed to do better when they have a team comprised of 90% or so UK/Irish-born players. This is not meant to be xenophobic - just an observation!

Another bargain basement buy that didnt come off. Do other clubs really take as many punts on finding a hidden gem?

Wouldnt like to think how much we have wasted on wages trying to find a half decent freebie!

He was worth a go. No problem with trying to find a hidden gem for free - it's the 4 year contract he got for being distinctly average that irks me!

Whilst I agree with what your saying, I wonder how much has gone down the plug hole on wages for the likes of de costa/Rogers/Nunez for players that never really got a run out <ok>

Not a very accurate observation, really. Remember the turn of the century? Radebe, Viduka, Bakke, Dacourt, Lucic, Haaland to name but a few - and let's not forget Big Bob the Terminator! Right enough, one we should definitely forget is Paul Okon!

Yeah I get what you mean. I bet Nunez was earning a fair bit. But for players like Grella, Rogers, Da Costa etc, who never really proved themselves to any degree, I'd be very surprised if they were earning anything more than 2k a week. Still a waste of wages but imagine if we were paying them closer to 6/7/8k a week <yikes>

I'd much rather see our youth brought through, if you look at the current team 3 of them play in our defence! Dawson and Poleon clearly have talent and Payne is supposed to be a good winger.

If you don't try them you will never find out how good any of them are...

I vote we take this guy on trial, purely for entertainment purposes - that way if we are playing dire football, at least the crowd can enjoy something...

For entertainment at ER, I much prefer the cheerleaders we once had. Remember everyone cheering when the screens showed the girls, and booing when it showed the leader/coach or whoever she was. Clever producer that caught on quickly & kept reverting from one to the other. Remember watching it on Soccer AM a couple of times too. Legendary!

How did he get his balls back? He must have got a joblot off the back of a lorry! Love to know how many times he tried these and missed before getting the shots of success.

The final clip kicking the ball into the police van - although so close that my gran could have got it - was hilarious in the reaction he got from the coppers. And the cyclist was a bit close, but funny as ****.

Agent Fee's and signing on fee's are £200k per player on average according to a previous Bates rant about Mikka

Alright, I'll give you them apart from John Lukic who left us on the day I got married in 1996 - it was a bad day all round . But we never actually won anything at this time. Maybe my mind is playing tricks but I seem to remember we were mostly (OK not 90%) a British/Irish team at the time of the CL run which caused a lot of comment in the press.

Anyway, we need 3 English, 3 Scots, 2 Irish, a South African, a couple of Welsh and a manager from Middlesborough. Sorted!
