Sissoko has been great so far and he'll get even better after a game or two more. Pure class and commitment from him.

His defensive woes drag him down though. As a full back you can't ignore the number of times they got behind him for me, and that Mata's goal (however wonderful), came from him deserting his primary role yet again. Indeed his forays upfield at the wrong times was the only time I felt we were troubled.

If the lad can learn when to go forward, and not to drift across field he will end some player.

I'll give a 10 to the little ball boy near the corner between the East stand and the Gallowgate, he cheekily punched the air and got a little cheer when he quickly retrieved the ball and got it back into play,....

The number of times they got behind him? So as a full back he can't let anybody pass all game? If that's the case Ashley Cole deserves the lowest score of anybody on the pitch today!

I can think of two occasions he drifted in field, one he ended up making a superb tackle which contributed to a counter-attack, the other he was exposed.

How about the goals his runs caused? He can't be an attacking full-back creating goals and the most defensive too. I think people are being overly critical myself.

We have now won as many games this season as we did in our relegation season. I think one more win in the near future should see us pretty safe. Maybe vs Saints? 30 points this early usually bodes well.

So chuffed with todays performance, and I'm just really happy we came from behind to win, something we have never done under Pardew. New characters providing the impetus and balls to achieve this? A major monkey off Pardew's back.

    Great performance all around!

Would just like to touch on other things:
-Howard Webb that tool, gave Perchino a Yellow for something as harmless as tossing a ball 2 metres behind him when the first half was about to end
-which was the same as what two-footed/(even if it wasn't) Ramires got

-Perch Jonas and Cabaye did very well containing Mata for the entire game
-Oscar is something special. When he took the ball past Debuchy who recklessly went in inside the box, he could've went down for a stonewall Pen, but he didn't credit to the lad. 90% of EPL players would have gone down there, and besides his play was generally very good

    Onto US now:

    The Gouf Is AMAZING!
Yes Sissoko took all the plaudits with those , but The Gouf looks like a chicken with his head still intact for us, as opposed to the usual ****e we see from Obertan!
Apart from one crazy shot he took he was excellent throughout the game, and I think he looks better than Marveaux, which really says something.

Hope we cut Cisse some slack, he did fail to score some shots, but he was up against Cech, and he did blast a shot over the bar with his left foot but all players miss sometimes.
Let's not forget he did play well , and it was his through ball to The Gouf that setup our equaliser.

Really liking the link-up play between our attackers as we start our counter attack. Can't wait to see what HBA can do now that HE HAS A FULLBACK WHO CAN POSE A THREAT

    Also, Krul's kicking is <doh>

Very pleased with the lads yesterday. New lads look very good I take my hat of to Carr a great scout and of course Pardew.

    Thought Cole was poor yesterday.

And yep the number times they got behind him, it must have been at least 5 or 6 occasions he went upfield at the wrong time and they just clipped it in behind him. I like a full back who overlaps and pushes back the opposition. I also like a full back who can put balls in for the header and cut back for the 3rd. Its simply about balance. And lets face it its not like his crossing is that productive every week.

What sums up the lads misunderstanding of the full back role perfectly for me was an incident yesterday. Debuchy was putting a cross in from near the touchline, who was standing at the back stick looking for a header? That should never ever happen. Krul rollocked him for the Mata goal, and both Colo/Cabaye told him on several occasions to get back in position. Its costing us goals weekly now and needs resolved, you can't always outscore the oppo. I think he drifted a bit more than twice too, it should rarely happen nevermind 2-5 times a game, Cabaye looked bewildered and was clearly annoyed at continually having to sprint 40 yards to plug the hole.

I want him to be attacking but his primary role is defending.

The problem is, Santon has spent the last 2 years in a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 with Jonas in front of him, or with all 3 CMs able to come over and cover. Now we're playing 4-2-3-1 with The Gouff in front of him, he doesn't have that liberty

I'm assuming ur talking about Santon. Regarding the Mata goal, if any of you would take a look at the goal again, I didn't like how Colo shied away from the shot. I've always thought a central defender would do well to be brave and look the shot and not turn around like a wuss like Colo did. I accept that Colo does have certain qualities that are just rare among centrebacks and has been playing well , but that's one knock on his game that I am particularly bothered by.

Although Santon truly should have done better when coming back and Cabaye was really massive yesterday not just in his dictating play, but in tracking back for us yesterday which I believe a lot of people don't realise the shift he put in defensively as well.

Too true about Colo, I felt he didn't cover himself in glory in the exact same way against Reading with Le Fondre's 2nd. Put it this way, Saylor would have throwing his face at it. I've been impressed with Saylors return. I wouldn't wholly blame either for the goal as it was a wonderful strike, but both made errors.

As you say Cabaye was immense and has been since returning. Obviously the goals have been classy but his work rate has really impressed. He covered every blade yesterday and though he was unhappy with Santon, he never shied from actually getting back. He is a proper team man and reined himself back to allow Sissoko to do his thing. Obviously Sissoko has to get the MOTM because he bagged 2, but I thought Cabaye was the best player from sides by a stretch.

I do think Pards has to show and teach Santon though, because he's only 22. As GCT correctly points out too, he doesn't have the luxury of Jonas in front. It'll come in time I'm sure.

Jonas getting 9 and Cabaye only getting 8.5. Think these two are back to front. Jonas had best game for ages but couldn't get a cross in to save his life. Must think we have Dracula playing up front!!

On Santoon I agree with Gandalf. Santoon has the potential to be a great player for us. Still has things to learn but clearly has the talent and ability to make it. Wish the negatives would give him time and a chance to learn it's not an overnight OMG moment.

Happy to give him time but I don't think pointing out his mistakes is really being negative, just realistic. I'm a big fan and think he will go on to be a great player, but only if he irons out the very obvious regular mistakes he is making. Man C, Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, Reading, Everton, have all punished him now. Norwich/Villa would have but for Perchino. QPR/Brighton are the only games in 9 he hasn't been punished but he was average in both. He has had decent games in amongst that lot to be fair but you can't keep giving goals away without showing any sign of progress. I just hope someone inside the club is working on it.

Cabaye was a 10 for me yesterday. Sissoko gets MOTM but Cabaye was easily the best on the park for me.

Got to agree re Cabaye - thought he was awesome yesterday - great energy and tackling together with some pin point passing - defintely seems to be back to his best - MOTM for me.

Gouffran also deserves a mention, thought his work rate was excellent, not just getting forward but also closing down their back four so they never had time to settle.

Makes you wonder what we'll be like with HBA & Tiote back in there :emoticon-0116-evilg

I think we may see a better Tiote with the extra quality, competition and workrate around him. Look at Vurnon, he has been pushed out, yet was in cracking form. I think Perchino has barely been mentioned but he did a cracking job on the superb Mata. He really gave him no time or space bar the goal. Everyone will have to up their game and it gives Pardew the chance to rest players and approach certain games a certain way.

HBA coming in could be frightening. I think him and Moussa could link superbly, which in turn will draw players and leave space for Cisse. It means teams can no longer just go two on HBA and get tight to Cabaye. They have more problems to consider.
